Came here for the late reservation and had a great time doing karaoke - the staff are super fun and friendly and make the experience. The courses were nicely plated and designed but it wasn’t my favorite taste wise. Some of the courses were quite bland while others were really flavorful.

Considering the price, it’s actually worth visiting. The food is not impressive but meeting expectations for what you paid for.

We made a reservation and arrived a little. It was a very cold night. The place was small cozy and clean. The staff were very accommodating and patient. The food was average in taste and presentation. The prices were comparable to other omakase places. Next time, will try the rooftop location.

Everyone was seated 30 minutes late due to poor planning. Nowhere to wait so everyone stood outside in 0 C freezing weather - have never experienced that for even a decent restaurant. Some courses out of order, omakase was average at best. The cooked fatty tuna piece was inedible. Not recommended - most budget sushi is better.

Very nice 15 course omakase for $100. Everything was quite nice, but you will prob be hungary after. The place is big for omakase so they preslice the fish which was a bit strange, but didnt impact quality or taste. It was also pretty noisy. Was here for my wifes bday, and they did a few special things, which was really nice.

Extremely disappointing, I’ve had better experiences on a gas station toilet. Did 12 course omakase for $70; fish quality was ok, scallop tasted fishy. All fish was pre cut and room temp, once handled all pieces were borderline warm and unpleasant. Nothing was tasteful or interesting. This place won’t last long

If you’re a fan of sushi and looking for a dining experience that goes beyond the ordinary, Sushi Lab in East Village should be at the top of your list.

Sushi Lab’s East Village location has a cozy, intimate setting that perfectly complements the personalized dining experience. The restaurant is small, which makes it feel exclusive and allows for a more engaged interaction with the chefs. Seated at the sushi bar, I was able to watch the chefs work their magic, which added an extra layer of excitement to the meal.

The Lab Experiment tasting menu is a thoughtfully curated series of courses that showcases the chef’s creativity and skill. Each dish is presented like a work of art, with attention to detail that is both visually stunning and palate-pleasing. The meal began with lighter bites, including fresh sashimi and delicately flavored nigiri, each piece crafted with precision. The fish was incredibly fresh, and the quality was evident in every bite.

As the courses progressed, the flavors became more complex. One of the highlights was the incorporation of luxurious ingredients like truffle, caviar, and A5 Wagyu beef. These elements were used sparingly but effectively, enhancing the natural flavors of the sushi without overpowering them. The A5 Wagyu nigiri, in particular, was a standout—rich, buttery, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious.

If you’re looking to treat yourself to a unique and memorable sushi experience, I highly recommend the $100 Lab Experiment at Sushi Lab East Village. It’s a dining adventure that will delight your senses and leave you with a deeper appreciation for the art of sushi. Whether you’re a seasoned sushi lover or someone looking to explore more refined flavors, Sushi Lab offers something special that’s worth experiencing at least once.

The service was excellent. They have trivia night on Friday and Saturday. It was fun and you can get one free sushi if you win.

Food was delicious! I loved every piece! Would definitely come back. Place is tiny and cozy. The host/waiter has to manage all of us at once, so props to him. He made it special for my boyfriend for his birthday! Thank you so much!

Came for restaurant week, standard omakase nothing spectacular relative to other spots in the area. Portions were perhaps a bit skimpy on some pieces.

They had one server and two chefs serving the whole place, making service a bit on the slower side as well
