Cozy atmosphere good service but the sushi was not that good. No flavor, taste and the edamame beans was dry and tasteless.
No wasabi and not that many options of sushi.

Sushi Lab delivers a solid rooftop sushi experience with clean flavors and polished presentation in a sleek rooftop space. The fish is fresh and well-cut. The omakase highlights consistency and technique.

This place is an easy crowd pleaser, worth it for the atmosphere especially if you value vibe as much as the food.

What we ordered :
- The Lab Experiment Omakase (15 signature course)
- Truffle Shrimp Pasta
- Crab Maki
- Salmon Belly & Poached Asian Pear 🍐
- Cheese Cake

I rented out this place for an after party for a proposal.

This place had the best sushi and was very fresh!! Also the appetizers were phenomenal!

Angie or (Angelina) helped me out so much, the day of and was able to accommodate all my requests!

Janine helped me with the reservation of the place, and they were so accommodating to all the requests I had! Could have never gotten a better place in NYC.

The staff at this place are amazing and helped serve everyone and made amazing food for everyone to enjoy and listened to all the food options that I would like to serve.

This place was so affordable and so beautifully decorated for a private event!

I repeat I do not think a place exists in NYC this affordable and with the amazing food options for a private event. Also, this place is a rooftop so even more wow!

The location of this place is conveniently situated right next to Times Square, allowing visitors to explore other attractions in New York City later at night.

Not happy with this place. Service sucks and the food isn't great. I was here with a party of five, the rest of the party was not gluten-sensitive like I am but everyone's impression of this place was that it's absolutely terrible. The only person that enjoyed their food got a regular burger.
When we first came in, we asked downstairs if the restaurant had seats, which the ladies answered yes. After we took the elevator and stairs up, the guys in the restaurant told us there were no seats available and that we would have to wait. There's no communication between the staff downstairs or upstairs... our first red flag which we should've listened to.
When we ordered our meal, gluten free is marked on the menu and I ordered the chefs selection omakase, specified gluten free. The server brought out the first course and when I asked if it was gluten free, he apologized, said no, and took it back to the kitchen to remake it. Later, the server brought out another order of edamame (one was on the table) and after he put it down, came back to pick it up off our table and take it back to the kitchen because he didn't see that we already had our order. Then the server came around after we asked three times to fill up our empty teas and drinks and he filled everyone's drink up besides mine and when I tried calling for him he already ran back to the kitchen. I had to wait another five minutes to flag him down yet again, and tell him that my drinks were never refilled. At the end of our meal, we left cash on our check and he counted the cash right over our heads. I've worked in food service as a waitress in the past, and I've never seen such atrocious service from any family restaurant, let alone a high-end one like this restaurant spells themselves out to be.
None of my party except the one who ordered the burger enjoyed the food. The person who ordered the non-gluten free omakase also said the food was quite mediocre. There was nothing great about our meal and for a $70 omakase that left you hungry, you could have gotten much more bang for your buck elsewhere. My party and I mutually agreed we would never come back here.

Amazing!our second time here. We had the lab experiment omakase plus tuna flight and the Uni Macaron. Update: Came back again for the omakasi. Just as good as the first two times!

Loved my time at Sushi Lab! The food was fresh, delicious and beautifully presented. If you’re a sushi lover like me, this place is perfect! The service was amazing everyone was so friendly and attentive. I highly recommend the Matcha Crunch Roll and the Sushi Box. Plus, it’s on a rooftop which makes the whole experience even more special. I can’t wait to go back!

Like watching 15 flowers bloom and blossom in front of you. With the change of seasons, when witnessing the cherry blossom lose its leaves, we may feel a desire to hold onto the fleeting moment. But… with a new season, comes a new flower, a new leaf.

An experience you won’t regret.

As though you walk into a field, find a secret garden hidden by a wall draped with rosy reds and ivy, enter into a glass elevator, and are lifted to 15 different floors, each with a different dreamscape.

I wrote this review immediately after my meal, because you need to know about this omakase experience. This is not a restaurant, this is an experience.

Question is… are you experienced?
If not, don’t worry. Vanessa and David will take care of you like they took care of me.

David: 24 years of experience, graceful master.
Vanessa: empathy, understanding, and a similar-different zen.

Savor everything and enjoy the temperance of every moment. Life is meant to be lived.

Plate selection, temperature, texture, tenderness, depth, contrast… only a few of the details you will notice.

The Lab Experiment menu is constantly changing, constantly evolving.

I know I will return as often as possible.

Don’t miss the chance of a lifetime.

This popped up for having a view. It was easy to get to by foot from our hotel. Getting to the restaurant was interesting. Including an elevator ride and a flight of stairs. The staff were very nice. The view wasn’t as expected but was still pleasant. It was mostly of an office building. However, still entertaining. They were able to accommodate gf and df allergies. I liked it but fair warning that the bathrooms are tiny and not the most hygienic. Grace did a great job and no complaints about the recommendations. I would go back for sure! For the fried taro chips at the very least.

The food was mouth-watering! I highly recommend the Omakase 12 course and you can choose five extra from the twelve course only $30. Angie and Vanessa were super kind and hospitable. 10/10! We will be back!!

Bad food, it tastes like trash. Attitude of waiter is 0.

Had the omakase here and the food, to me, was quite mediocre. Moderately experimental so if you appreciate sushi for its true oceanic taste (Edomae-style) and like a pure approach (like me), you won’t be a fan.

The service and atmosphere were great, though. Very attentive wait staff and sat before the chefs. Lively enough where you can have good, ongoing conversations without hearing pin drops or awkward silences.

Overall, makes for a good first date spot but not my recommendation for sushi connoisseurs.

Waiter is super friendly and knowledgeable. Food is OK, nothing special compared to with a normal Japanese restaurant. If you only want to grab a quick bite, this is not a bad place.

This restaurant has my endless affection. The food impressed regardless of custom treatment. Nice placement and very helpful workers. The employees offer menu assistance naturally. Nothing about this place disappointed.
