Have been here twice. Date of most recent visit was February 2025. Went with a party of 4, sushi counter for dinner. 2 of us availed the Premium Omakase and the other 2 with the wine pairing. Superb food. Exceptional service. We were served by the Executive Chef Shawn Li, awesome funny guy! All of the sushi were fresh, flavorful and well presented. You need a reservation to get in, and they fill out quick, i recommend reserving as soon as the spots open. Overall, 100% recommend...
A well polished experience from start to end. The staff is courteous and mindful, the counter chef was great, the courses were excellent (we got the classic 21-piece omakase), and the overall atmosphere was peaceful. Definitely a strong recommend if you're a fan of omakase — this particular one sits about one or two notches above the other entry-level omakase spots in the city.
Sushi Nakazawa is consistently great in both NYC and DC. Uni add-on is a must.
Taste has gotten better and more refined over the years (salmon roe marination👌) but the quality feels like it’s slipped and I would put money on them cheapening out on certain aspects…like a lack of egg in several components — potentially from shortages? Still great though not as good as before.
The Tamago has also changed. But at least it tastes better than before.
