Attentive chef and service with great creativity in a warm, friendly environment. Authentic omakase in NY, I loved it.

I highly recommend anyone reading this to come try! I wish I could give 10 stars. Make a resy. This was honestly one of the best dining omakase experiences!! But not only was the experience great, so was the food and drinks. Karina was very kind on explaining us the drink options, and finding us the perfect drink we would love. Her and the chef were also super kind on telling us every piece we were eating and where it was from. Alex was also such a great host. Always asking how everything was and also make great small talk, getting to know us. The food was such great quality also so it was well worth the omakase price. I also ordered their special which had Uni-Toro-Wagyu-HotateCaviar. It was DIVINE!!

Sushi YOLO was an outstanding omakase experience. Every bite was fresh, flavorful, and presented with care. One of the owners, Alex, was on the floor making sure guests felt taken care of, which made the night feel personal and memorable. The food is a true 10/10, the service is 20/10, and the whole atmosphere makes it an unforgettable night. I can’t wait to come back for my next visit.

If I could give Sushi YOLO a higher rating, I would. Such an incredible omakase experience. The food in itself is incredible and some dishes very unique when compared to other omakase spots. But where YOLO shines is with its staff and service. Alex, one of the owners, made sure we had one of best nights ever. Extremely kind and personable, he made sure we were well taken care of all night.
I will certainly be a regular here and tell everyone I know to come!

Tucked discreetly on 57th Street with no signage to mark its presence, Sushi YOLO feels like a true neighborhood secret—almost speakeasy in its exclusivity. With only 12 seats per 90-minute seating, the experience is intimate, focused, and built around connection between chef and guest.

The omakase, a generous 16-course progression, highlights the kind of quality and attention to detail you’d expect from far pricier Manhattan sushi counters. Each piece is served with thoughtful explanation and often a story from the owner-chefs, whose warmth and pride in their craft elevate the experience. The service, too, strikes the perfect balance of professional and personal—attentive without being intrusive.

Sake lovers will especially appreciate the excellent cold sake selection, curated to complement the progression of courses. The staff is happy to recommend pairings, making the journey through the menu feel both guided and exploratory.

Despite its high level of craftsmanship, Sushi YOLO remains reasonably priced by Manhattan omakase standards, making it a rare find: world-class sushi in a setting that feels both approachable and special. If you’re lucky enough to grab a seat, you’ll leave feeling like you’ve discovered one of New York’s best-kept secrets.

Really special small space (12 seats) with amazing round of delicious sushi. Chef and staff were knowledgeable and friendly. Clients I took also raved about the food and the service.

A neighborhood favorite! Top quality ingredients and fish, super friendly team, and an elevated intimate experience. It's especially cool to watch the chefs work and chat with them.

We ate here in June with a group of 6. I have eaten at a number of top omakase type restaurants in nyc. This has been the best. The 4.9 rating is deceiving. Should be 5. The food is outstanding. The service is the best. I will be a frequent dinner.

A short walk away from the avenue has made this a fantastic find! fresh, melt in your mouth sushi prepared by a chef who takes pride in his work and all served in an intimate atmosphere.

A hidden gem on the Upper West Side. I had walked past a few times without noticing it since they don’t have a big sign outside yet, but I finally gave it a try. So glad I did.

The omakase was fantastic. Every piece was fresh and thoughtfully prepared, and Chef Peter explained each one with care. Didn’t feel rushed at all. The staff was super friendly and welcoming.

It’s a cozy, intimate spot, so definitely make a reservation. Highly recommend if you’re looking for high-quality sushi in a relaxed setting.

Put this place on the map!!!! A tried a true, best of the best, MUST go to spot when visiting (or living in) NYC. No exaggeration, my boyfriend and I haven’t stopped talking about this place since we visited last year. We’ll finally be back in town next month and are beyond excited to be dining with them again. Did we book a trip just to eat here!? Maybe… probably… because seriously, this place is exceptional. The owner is the sweetest, most delightful human with an incredible story and the food/service is an unmatched experience. Plus, you simply can’t beat their affordable omakasi prices…but the bigger bonus??? BYOB. Bring your wine, bring your tequila, bring neither or bring both. As far as I’m concerned, it’s a party in the most intimate sense. I never write reviews, but Sushi YOLO is a 10/10, so please, do yourself a favor and go see them before they earn that Michelin Star!
