This is my first review ever leaving on any establishment. My husband and I waited about an hour for our food. No one had come to update us on the status of our food or to even apologize for the delay. I mean how long does pancakes and eggs take to make? Steakhouses don’t even take that long to bring your food out. What really surprised me was when the servers and whom I believe was the manager came out and apologized to the kind people next to us for the delay in THEIR order, mind you they came in roughly 15 minutes after us. Not only that, but they also offered them complimentary food and didn’t even charge them for their meals! When I tell the manager we had been waiting longer than them, he was very dismissive and walked away. Seems racist if you ask me. Not to mention, our syrup bottle had a piece of hair at the very stop where you pour from, extremely unsanitary. I’ve been to a different sweet chick location and the other one was far better than this. Terrible customer service. Will not be recommending.

This place is a hidden gem, but be ready to eat. We went for lunch and the portion was so healthy that we skipped dinner! The chicken was fantastic and the jalapeno cheddar hush puppies were awesome!

My one star does not reflect on how I feel about this establishment. It is one of the best places I’ve eaten at for over 4 years. I lived next door and then moved to Williamsburg. But I went there today and I really just can’t let this go as much as the staff wanted me to.I walked into the restaurant around 5:30pm. A woman named kate told me to hold on while she went outside and took a few orders, regular. Very used to that kind of service. There was 7 people in line behind me after 5mins waiting to order. Can’t even imagine how much revenue that was for this place that they lost. The only thing that bothered me was when she came back ready to take my order. She not only told me what do you want but also was rushing me to order because “she had other tables and needed me to hurry up” I was beyond shocked and in disbelief. She went to the kitchen and placed an order of what I said immediately. Only problem was so wasn’t done ordering.. my pregnant girlfriend needed a side order of Mac and cheese and I needed more food. She literally snatched the menu from my hand aggressively for absolutely no reason.. never had that happen in my life. I hope the managers look on the cameras and understand that this service is completely unacceptable. To grab the menu aggressively and put it back in a folder with other menus nobody is panting attention it is rude and completely unneeded. I literally had it on my hand looking at more stuff to order. I politely told her that I’m not done ordering. She didn’t even ask me if I wanted to sit down and eat at the restaurant. Not even bothering to ask me if I wanted it to go. Completely unprofessional on so many levels, I had to stand in the middle of the restaurant sitting down and standing up because she didn’t bother to ask me if I wanted to dine in or not. Idk if it was because I was a different race than her but this kind of service was the worst I’ve ever experienced in my life I swear on my family. I have no idea if her life is in shambles or if she is overwhelmed because she disclosed to me that“the staff was short and in the bathroom and she doesn’t get paid enough for this and has nothing to do with it”. Then she pretends to lie after saying she didn’t say anything. I came to eat and get food for my girl. To deal with the disrespect I dealt with today is beyond me, I love this place but I have to switch sourthen food restaurants now because I really don’t want to deal with that person kate again in my life. Whatever she has going on at home needs to stay at home. Doesn’t matter if she’s depressed or miserable, I love all the staff here and this restaurant is amazing but if you get a woman named Kate for your sever or just to talk to, please request a new person right away. The rudeness and unprofessionalness is out of this world. Can’t believe I really heard the words “ hurry up I have more tables that are waiting” from a waitress. The only thing that stopped me from getting more upset was the manager. He was so nice and polite and understanding, he knew exactly what went wrong . Not only did this worker Kate who was the worst worker ive ever dealt with, mess up my day, but another employee messed up my entire order and gaveMe the wrong food aswell. There was complete chaos in this store on another level. I could have dealt with everything else but the service from Kate literally messed up my entire day. How can a human being be so hateful? The only name I remember and person who helped me not escalate this situation is Matt. He not only set order but also talked to the waitress, she knew she was wrong. Im just mad I had to be the one e to receive the worst service she could offer during her day. I can into the store in a great mood

I don’t know who the chef is and who gave the ok to serve that mac and cheese ? this is the second time I went to the spot in the city near village. I had chicken and waffles the first time I went like three or four years ago and was disappointed. The drinks was good that time. Yesterday but my daughter wanted to go so I gave it another try. Why why my stomach hurts like crazy. I opt for a salad bc you can’t go wrong with salad, it tasted great at least I thought but when I got home I had to go to the bathroom. Never again. I tried to like the place and support but the food is not worth it. The grits and shrimp what hell is that all clumpy with red sauce just nasty. Chicken not seasoned well and Brussels sprouts, they were burnt and taste like they just took it out the bag and threw them in the pan. Just awful , The ice tea was ok. The was music was amazing love the vibe but need some food with a little seasoning and fresh. Not telling no one not to go there, I just won’t be going back. we all have different taste buds so go and try it out. If you know good food you will know what I’m talking about when you go.

This used to be one of my favorite restaurants but every time I come back the food gets worse and worse. It’s got all the bones of a great spot still, exemplary service and a fun place to hang out, but the food is so unremarkable. To the point where it doesn’t matter what you order it all tastes the same. It’s such a shame to eat such unhealthy food and then not even feel like you enjoyed it ??? I guess the waffles were okay

Wreaked of weed, slow service, poor customer service, drinks were terrible, food took over a hour to be served & was cold, we arrived after 3 on a Saturday so I am not sure if staff was burnt out from the morning crowd… bc it wasn’t busy at all for such terrible service.

I went here the other night with my family and the food was great but the service was horrible. The waitress barely said hello when we greeted her then when our water ran out, I asked for a refill and she acknowledged me but never grabbed the water. She was visibly by our table and the bar just talking with her coworkers. We never got the water. Then we had to literally get up and grab her from talking to get our bill. She was so rude and cold. Won’t come here again. 14st location is so much better and friendlier.
