Amazing restaurant in Harlem. Sunday afternoon gospel was amazing regardless of the religion. Overall, it was a very powerful, active, welcoming vibe. Chicken was on another level, and the mac&cheese with traditional collard greens was one of the best meals I've ever had. Rum Punch cocktail was also highly recommended. Cornbread was very warm and delicious. It's just phenomenal. 100% willing to come back again as soon as possible.

I absolutely LOVED this place!! We are spanish and were doing tourism in NYC and visited Harlem for a gospel mess (11 am at Refugees, amazing) and then brunch at Sylvia’s at 12The food’s full of soul and very tasty, great portions for a fair price (around 25 person eating a lot), bottomless mimosa with 1,5 h of refill super good priced. But the best part comed with the singing gospel show at around 1,5 hDefinitely would be back!

I really wanted to love this place when I ordered catering for my grandmother’s 92nd birthday, but it was such a disappointment. I ordered the baked mac and cheese and bbq chicken. They were both unseasoned and flavorless to the point nobody went back for a second plate. It was such an embarrassment. The bbq chicken itself was dry and the bbq sauce didn’t even taste like bbq sauce. I wish I can get my money back after that but I learned my lesson and will never go back. Smh I should have listened to the bad reviews from jump.

The disappointment. Catered bake mac and cheese and bbq chicken. The bake mac and cheese was basically noodles and cheese, no flavor at all, and also no cheese in the middle. The bbq chicken was dry and again no flavor. Very disappointing.

Big portions. Staff were working hard! Very busy when we went. Enjoyed the smothered chicken and fried chicken. There is a "Hiring now" sign out front and they could definitely use the help. Staff were nice.

I love food. Sylvia's was my favorite Sunday soulfood luxury spot. That was the 90s. There Is no love on the flavors. Food was salty and not reminiscent or nostalgia invoking delight I longed for. The service was fantastic I will go back without expectation next time and be an objective diner.
