The whole vibe was immaculate and I couldn't be more impressed by this traditional Szechuan restaurant. If you're a basic white girl, but love spice, this is your spot. It's not just heat that they can bring (mild is an option too), their food is cooked and seasoned with gorgeous presentation.
We had the pork swing belly app, delightfully balanced with a chili oil and cucumber -- a definite showpiece. We followed with the dumplings in a chicken broth; these babies carried delicate flavors I've never before had married together. A true culinary delight! For entrees, we got both teppan shrimp and beef and potatoes in a clay pot. The garlic and flavor in this shrimp was outstanding! Pro tip, they are not fried in a tempura batter, they are cooked in their natural form. Peel the shrimp before you take a bite (that's a different kind of crunch)! The beef that is cooked in red wine and what tasted like Chinese five-spice was seriously delicious!! The potato element was more akin to gnocchi and sooooo pillowy. As you are eating traditional Szechuan, there will be additional beef elements, not just tender meat. I tried it and the flavor was heavenly, but not my cup of tea. I am glad to have had the experience, but I fished for beef chunks and gnocchi. It rivals any beef stew you've ever had!
To finish out the meal, we opted for a drink. We each got a purple starry night, a steal for $11, and artfully crafted. All in all, a 5-star engaging experience. Oh, and they serve hot jasmine tea at each table in a traditional teapot. Sooooo thoughtful! I highly recommend this for dates, friends who are foodies, and as a spot to entertain out-of-town guests!

The food portions are good. The food is delicious and the service is exceptional. We had a great time and a great experience although the peppercorn was way too strong for me personally, I would go back for the ambience.

Easy 5 star experience. Every dish was stellar with extra love for the spicy cabbage dish which was a free appetizer but was so good we got a larger portion. The fish soup was perfection. It’s a dish i really only got into recently but this was by far the best version of it I’ve had.
Service was friendly and quick. Seating was comfortable. Loved the decor. Couldn’t ask for anything else, except more room to try more dishes!

Can’t say enough good things about this place! My fav Chinese/Sichuanese food place in the city. Packed with flavor and authentic taste, perfectly done, and absolutely fresh tasting delicious food. Consistently high quality every time. You can find really good vegetarian and non vegetarian options. Loved every dish I’ve tried in my many visits here.. Diced chicken with Lotus root, Stone pot fish stew, Szechuan Cabbage & Fish, Stir-fried cauliflower, Chiba tofu, and Fried rice with Szechuan pickles are some of my favorites!

Spicy 🌶️ Alert 🚨 finally a real spicy delicious food. The tSwing Pork Belly & Cucumber with Hot Chili oil Sauce , is a must not just because of the beauty and the nobility of how it serves, it’s delicious and unique that you won’t find anywhere else in the city. Now the 🌶️🌶️ the Stir Fried Chicken with Dry red Chili serves beautifully as well on a shovel 🔥 and it’s spicy, really spicy. The place is warm and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable , many more dishes but those for me are my Go to order

Absolutely loved my experience at Mountain House Restaurant in Flushing! The food was incredibly flavorful, fresh, and clearly made with care. Each dish had a unique taste that reminded me of home-cooked meals. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was cozy without feeling crowded. It’s rare to find a place that delivers both great service and amazing food — highly recommend and will definitely return!

Authentic & Absolutely Delicious!
Szechuan Mountain House is one of my favorite spots—everything here is amazing! The flavors are bold, authentic, and so satisfying. Every time I come, I always ask for extra paocai (Sichuan pickles) if they still have it—so delicious! Honestly, just try everything on the menu, you can’t go wrong. If you love real Szechuan food, this is a place you’ll want to visit again and again!

We waited a while to get seated, but Cynthia made the experience much better, really kind and easy to talk to. The lazi chicken was fire. Crispy, spicy, and super satisfying. A bit warm inside, but overall a solid meal.

Why not solve the problem of flushing store? It's really terrible.

Mountain House always has a bit of a wait (usually around an hour), but honestly worth it every time. Cynthia is super friendly and welcoming. she always makes us feel taken care of and we got a booth!! Once you’re seated, the food comes out fast. Definitely get the lazi chicken and pickled pepper frog so flavorful and satisfying ❤️. Only downside is it gets really hot inside, we asked the server, the AC is on but seems like it’s not blowing cold wind.
