I went because I saw this place on social media and the ayce/aycd was definitely worth it! They only had two kinds of sake for the aycd part but the yuzu sake was really tasty. The fish was quite fresh and overall not too bad. The only weird part was the fact that there was NO ONE else with us in the restaurant 🤣😭Otherwise, it was great! I'll probably swing by again and hope that there's more people the next time I go lol

I had really high hopes for this place as I saw it had many good reviews and has blown up on social media . Sadly to say this was not what I expected at all. To start I walked in and no one was at the door. Then they magically appear surprised I was there as I had a reservation . Then there was no one else there in the entire restaurant which I thought was weird. The sushi chief was quiet and barely said the fishes when he was introducing the fishes to us. He spoke so quietly and I asked him multiple times what fish? Just because I was curious and never have done omakase before. It was so rushed the entire experience and I had no idea it was no tipping and I tipped 18% even though the experience was not it. DO NOT GO HERE. They will rush you and not be attentive at all. Really sad :(

Solid omakase spot! We loved the sea bream, toro, and hand rolls. The AYCE menu selection was pretty good, wagyu was a little underwhelming though. You can only order AYCE once. Dessert was great! Service was nice and this is a no-tipping establishment but you can tip at the end if you want to.

I would ABSOLUTELY recommend the omakase that Toka has to offer. All you can eat sushi and drinks for a fixed price… LET’S GO!!! I was full from a meal I had earlier in the day, but it was a great portion of food regardless. The omakase was delicious, the speed of service for the omakase was amazing and the service overall was phenomenal. Kudos to the chef for being able to serve in a timely fashion all our nigiri even though there were different guests that sat down at different times. I would definitely frequent this establishment if I lived in NYC.

I will give this place a two because the sushi was ok but not omakase quality. I when in half hour early for reservations but was not greeted by the waiter to welcoming. The waiter did not give me water until I ask but I saw him prepare for other customers. They only serve two kinds of sake for the AYCE menu. The chef (owner) prepare 7 pieces of sushi and then said it is finish. The waiter gives me slip of paper with only 6 options of sushi and then said you can only order once and that’s it. I thought is AYCE menu . Apparently not and after I finish I was handed the check right away. I give 15% which I regretted since it said it is not required to tip I forgot. I went to a udon place right after because I was still hungry. $98 for AYCE but it’s not is rip off. Never come back again

One of the best deal in NYC is this all you can eat and all you can drink Omakase for $98 per person. All Nigiri's are fresh as should be with Chef explaining each as served. The staff is very nice and they keep the drink flowing. All you can drink consist of sake, yuzu sake & beers and whatever else they have for the day.

Main dining counter is large L shaped counter however overall restaurant is fairly large and well spaced.

This is definitely an Omakase that can be repeatedly visited.

For $106 (after tax and tip), I walked out of Toka stuffed and seriously impressed. The omakase includes a solid appetizer, 12 pieces of sushi, and 2 hand rolls. You also get a bonus round where you can order as many additional nigiri as you want from a select list. You can only order one round and there’s an $8 penalty for each uneaten piece so choose wisely. On the day I went, they were offering: otoro, salmon, lean tuna, wagyu, yellowtail, and unagi. Not a full AYCE, but everything I tried was high quality. The toro and salmon were standouts, buttery and fresh.

If I had one nitpick, the wagyu sushi was a little chewy. Could’ve used a bit more sear or a thinner slice. But everything else? Spot on.

Service was top tier. My drinks were constantly refilled without asking, and the staff kept the pace moving without making it feel rushed. The 75-minute limit flew by, but I never felt shortchanged on time.

Crazy good value for the quality and quantity you get. Toka’s definitely on my return list.

Lovely dinner spot to go to for a special occasion. They serve you a 14 course omakase with unlimited sake. Then you do an all you can eat order - keep in mind that you can only order the AYCE once, and after that you can no longer order. There is a dessert after you finish, so save room for that. This is a no tipping establishment as stated on the website, but for some reason there is a tip option at the end of service, it’s one of the many things to note. The fish is fresh and the rice to fish ratio was amazing. They pay attention to detail and the servers are attentive. If you want to see the omakase being made please make a reservation for bar seating.

Totally had an awesome omakase experience with family. The sushi was very fresh, the pace was just right, the sake was always flowing, and the AYCE after the regular course was quite sufficient. Really enjoyed meeting Julia & Chef Derek. Highly recommend. Already booked our next reservation!
