There is some thrill to pushing past a diamond district street hustler and ascending a gritty staircase to eat Uzbek food. Unfortunately, the prices here are roughly double what they would need to be for it to be worth turning onto this street and walking up the staircase. The rice in the pilaf was good but the small portion of (unidentified) meat was cheap and basic. A crazy price for what I got.

Great kosher food! Prices in NY are a bit high but that's normal in New York. I would recommend!

Good size portion, food could have been hotter, meat was a little overcooked. Tasty though and service was good

No thrills ambiance but a truly authentic Uzbeki cuisine and very hospitable service. Plov and shakarob salad (tomatoes with onions) are a must. And the portions are really big. Manty were juicy and delicious. I found beef samsa to be too greasy. If you want to take an elevator it is doors closer to 5th Avenue not on this exact address.Vegetarian options: There are several vegetarian dishes on the menu. Mainly sides and salads.

I recently ordered a chicken shish kabob from this restaurant, enticed by the online menu photo showcasing fresh onions and cilantro. Unfortunately, the dish I received lacked these ingredients, leading to a rather bland experience. This discrepancy between the menu's imagery and the actual meal was disappointing. Further, when inquiring about the missing onions and cilantro, the response from the restaurant was unsatisfactory. They seemed to dismiss the issue by blaming the photo rather than addressing the inconsistency (as if they didn't upload those photos). Moreover, their offer for me to return and pick up the missing ingredients was not a practical solution. I advise caution when ordering based on menu photos, as they do not accurately represent the dish you receive.

I had dinner here the day before. I went again because I thought it was so good. I got the lamb skewer and the meat was incredibly tough. I asked the waiter if this was beef and he told me it was lamb. She said sometimes meat can change and the taste may not always be the same. Is that possible ? I'm going there because I think it will be nice. However, when it comes to getting the bill, you even add the tip. Unfortunately, this is not an good approach. In such a case, instead of forcing me to eat rubbery hard lamb meat, you should apologize to me and change my plate. If you cannot think of doing this, you can at least try to compensate for your mistake by offering me the tea I bought to relieve my post-meal indigestion. You can't serve a meal that is not cheap and of such poor quality and say "sometimes such things happen"!

The best borsch on Manhattan so far, and meat samsa is authentic and pretty good. A true gem in diamond district haha

My office orders catering from here all the time. Consistently good and they overdeliver. SO. MUCH. FOOD.Plov is great, as are the grilled meats. I like the chicken. The sauce on the side is spicy and delicious.Probably one of the better kosher options in midtown.
