I love the concept but the rice was just so overcooked and none of the fish had much flavor. I ordered one item to stay and one to go and both were just extremely underwhelming. For the price I would have gotten it again if the rice wasn't so bad. Service was fine. Nothing too friendly but not rude either. Place is cute with a single long bar type seating.

first time 5/5 came here with a friend. server was a nice older lady. kept coming over to refill our tea.
second time 2/5.. ordered the same thing a small naoshima bowl. came here by myself after a long day of work and yoga class. the server confronted me outside the door & lectured me for like 3 minutes about no tipping and asked if i was from nyc. he kept going on and on about how he doesn’t care but he brought up the fact that he offered me a charger. yes, thank you for the charger i’m grateful but i didn’t ask for it i had a portable. anyway i usually tip 15-20% at restaurants but i was tired and automatically clicked no tip bc it was a option.. anyways his attitude kinda ruined my vibe. will not be coming back :/

My recent visit to TABERU NOMU was an absolute treat! I started with the Pickle Vegetable and Seaweed Salad, both of which were refreshing. The standout dishes for me were the Katsurahama and Kataonami; the former a delightful mix of salmon, hotate, ikura, yellowtail, tuna, ika, botan ebi, and shiso leaves, and the latter a luxurious combination of crab, ikura, uni, and shiso leaves served over rice. Both dishes were exquisitely balanced, showcasing the freshness and quality of the seafood.
The Matcha Mont Blanc Cake was a perfect ending to the meal, with its delicate flavor and smooth texture, while the Melon Cream Soda provided a nostalgic and sweet touch to the dining experience.
Whether you’re a fan of Japanese cuisine or looking to try it for the first time, this place will not disappoint. Highly recommend for anyone in search of an authentic and memorable dining experience.

Came around 9pm on a weekend. There were only a few people inside so we didn’t have to wait. We got the Enoshima & Katsurahama donburi’s in the small size. Not sure if it was because it was the end of the day or something else, but I don’t think the quality of the fish was that great? I felt like I got the leftover pieces of the fish and I didn’t enjoy it as much as I would’ve liked to. I had high expectations for the quality but I also thought there was way too much rice and not enough fish. That could be a personal preference but I left more than half of the rice after finishing the fish. I would give this place another try but it’s not a place I would immediately think of going. My boyfriend did enjoy his Katsurahama bowl though.

Unsure if I just had high expectations or if this place is overhyped. We came around 8:30 PM. There was only one other guest dining. The salmon was just about the best part. Everything else was downhill, somewhat warm and not fresh tasting. The server was too busy to refill our teas. I am unlikely to come back.

Fresh fish and wonderful value. Unfortunately had a careless waiter who couldn’t have been more nonchalant and non inviting. Please be nicer to your patrons!
