I had the pleasure of dining at a Donburi restaurant recently, and it was an excellent experience from start to finish. The rice was cooked to perfection, and each topping complemented the dish beautifully. I particularly enjoyed the Gyudon (beef rice bowl) — the meat was tender, flavorful, and well-seasoned.
The restaurant offers a welcoming atmosphere with attentive service. Prices are reasonable given the quality and portion size. Overall, it’s a great spot for anyone who appreciates authentic Japanese comfort food.

I went because of a recommendation made by a friend. The place had plenty of seats available, it's my first time trying this style of restaurants. I was disappointed with the wait time honestly, it was about 1 hour and I was the only one waiting. 😅 The staff is very friendly and polite. The place does not accept cash payments. The food really was fresh and delicious (although at first I didn't know what to order as they didn't have pictures on the menu). I also ordered takeaway but it was a bit disappointing the portion. It was significantly less than what I ate inside the restaurant. I'll be back another day to try more dishes 👍

The portion size of the fish is very small in relation to the rice. I ordered medium donburi and it came with very thin slices of fish scattered on top of a super thick bed of rice.
Though it tasted good, I will not say it worth the price or satisfied me enough

Quaint vibe around the sushi bar, but the front part is tall enough to provide more privacy. We tried the enoshima bowl and suki desu fresh from the sea. The salmon and yellowtail were my favorite cuts. The miso soup in the end was amazing!!

Their Google map says they close at 3 pm but their last call is 2:30? Before I went , I checked their schedule to save the trip . When I got there at 2:33 they said they can’t serve . What a waste of time . They probably should fix their schedule online .

DON'T EAT THE UNI!!

I ordered a medium salmon and uni bowl here!! It was about 70% rice to 30% fish ratio, but that's around what I expect from the price. The salmon was good!

... But then there was... the uni...

I had three pieces of uni in my bowl with one piece in the middle distinctively darker/grayer in color than the others... I had a few moments of doubt but I decided to eat it. And that's how I sealed my fate.

Next day, I woke up with stomach cramps, waves of nausea, and chills. I had the hotel room air conditioning at 82 degrees and I was still freezing. Throughout the night, I was stuck between life and death in the bathroom.

I had 5 days in New York and 3 of it was spent nibbling on plain crackers and bananas in my hotel room. Sightseeing was me wobbling like a baby deer throughout the city, clutching my stomach during the random bouts of pain and nausea. I certainly had a very unforgettable NY trip... Just not in the way I would've wanted.

So if you do decide to come here, STAY AWAY FROM THE UNI.

I dream of these bowls often. Everything melts in your mouth. The small was filling, and the price makes it accessible, which is really appreciated these days. It’s a small, but welcoming restaurant.

High quality fish, great choices for the toppings of the donburi, and very reasonably priced as well.

With a limited menu and three sizes of rice box to choose from, they know how to do this well.

While I wished the portions of uni were larger, the crab rice box I got was full of crab meat and salmon caviar. It was quite enjoyable. Had sides of both raw shrimps and liked them both - botan only came with one piece, but with the head on - a must try if you’re open to raw shrimp head!

Good service, small space.

Recommended.
