I've been here 3 times and I thought it was bad timing that the waiters weren't doing their jobs right.
But I come to the conclusion that this place has very unprofessional people, especially the two waiters, they serve with a very arrogant attitude, they have no respect, which is what is essential in providing a service in my opinion,
I once made complaints to the person who claims to be a manager but he ignored them, making him only listen to me and not pay attention to his clients, very bad of him.
Here is something very important, I don't know if they are Mexican or not but we Mexicans have always identified ourselves as very hard-working, respectful, noble, these people who work here in this place have none of that and also criticizing the environment that doesn't seem like anything. Mexican is the lowest, they use the name of Mexico to do business, the music they have is very unpleasant, you go to a place to have a good time, feel the Mexican food and the Mexican atmosphere,
But with all due respect, this place looks more like a Dominican bar disguised as Mexico, I hope they change their way of providing service because the way they do it is terrible.
Well, the food is very good.

The food is very good ?. The night waiters are very cool / raise their salary please\. There is a lot of atmosphere on the weekends there is caraoque and you can sing whatever you want. There is a lot of security, there are almost no fights. It's cheap when I go I spend less than 200 dollars. The birria tacos are the best. The best restaurant in my opinion.????

Incredible what happened to the young man who was stabbed to death for not paying for what he didn't eat... it's scary to go there

I will rate this based on three aspects: food, service and atmosphere. (Just like Google Maps)

Let me just start off by saying that my friends go here all the time. They do! They like this as a place to hang out and eat too. So giving it a 3/5 wasn’t a rate I wanted to give but it was my experience.

Sincerely, this place gave me the impression that they wanted to make sure they got every penny they could from my visit. Firstly, the server gave only one basket of nacho chips for five individuals. My friend realizing that would not be enough asked if the server could give her another. He did but managed to not inform her that that would cost her extra and would not be the given appetizer like the first small basket. Secondly, as said in previous reviews, that sauce is certainly not authentic and it is indeed made with ketchup.

Regarding the charge of extra nachos, they did this with my personal order as well. As pictured, I ordered a chicken salad. That was a genuinely dry salad with no dressing or flavor whatsoever. It was lettuce (iceberg) with corn and dry grilled chicken. I had asked the server clearly, “how much does it cost to add beans?” Instead of answering he said he would add an order of a side of beans. Turns out the side of beans was a whopping $5 extra (receipt picture included) and while the receipt says rice was included too, it was certainly not. (You can see this in video.)

The extra charge also followed for the tip. Instead of giving the customer the option to tip as they seemed fit, they added the tip on the receipt. (Again, pictured.)

So the food was honestly disappointing because it lacked flavor and seasoning for the chicken. My beans were just as dull. From the looks of it, I think out of my group of friends, perhaps the chilaquiles my sister ordered was the best of all the dishes.

In terms of the atmosphere, the music was pretty loud (although the songs themselves weren’t too bad.) The music was louder where we’re sitting next to the bar. We did not have the option to move farther away due to our group size so the music ended up being simply an inconvenience.

As you can see, the art decor is quite cool. I enjoyed seeing Selena’s portrait and the Chili ndrinas too. But definitely nothing new that one would not see in any Mexican restaurant.

The service was okay— but I certainly wish the man was honest about the extra charges from the get go. Starting off with the nachos and then the side of beans. It felt dishonest of him to not let us know he would charge us extra and then tip himself 15%.

My experience overall was disappointing. I think a Mexican restaurant in Washington Heights ought to provide quality Mexican food. That wasn’t the case for us.

There are other Mexican restaurants in the neighborhood or Tack trucks. I recommend checking those out before visiting this restaurant.

Decent prices, service was ok. Food was fine and good enough quality but not anything spectacular either. The single tortilla per taco was a bit disappointing (especially since most good Mexican places do double tortilla) and made the food messy to eat as the single tortilla easily collapsed under the weight of the food.

I wanted to try the molcajete but it was nothing delicious, the avocado was all black and it had the smell of rotten sauce in the molcajete, there is nothing, everything is dry and that dry chop is worse, it is known that the pork is dry and not even the molcajete sauce is worse, no. I say it's all the food but in the molcajete they lack everything
