Was excited about the end of year special here. $5 drinks and tacos, what could be better? My husband and I planned to come here before catching a movie. However, when we walked up both the doors were locked. There was a nice big open sign on the door so we tried again. All the lights were on and there was a cook and a bartender inside so we lightly knocked to try to get their attention...they just waved at us and laughed (clearly not going to open the door or the restaurant for us.) I was so confusing because it looked like they were packaging up to go food so why couldnt the restaurant be open? Rude and frustrating...

This is my favorite place, I am a s***** for a good bartender and some tacos. The location for starters is very convenient, located by the west side trains 1,2,3 and 5,6,4 train. It does get crowded here as every restaurant does especially during rush hour. I never have a issue though, I adore the chef and the bartender Kleb. Very good vibes here, good conversation and the decor is cute. ALSO the bathroom is kept VEEEERY clean, I was actually shocked. Heads up if a reservation is to be made, make sure you call and give them a heads up.

Taocs are good here. I would be careful when using words like amazing but still a good place for tacos. And prices are reasonable. So I am here once a week or more.

Nice place if your looking for a chill vibe, drinks and small bites after work. Emphasis on small bites, but I was filled after 3 tacos and churros. Highly recommend "The Playa Tacos", Fish tacos and the churros. My coworkers seemed to like the green tea shots!

Truthfully don't really remember this place, and that's probably detrimental for them. I got a salad and I think my boss got tacos. None of the food was bad, but none of it was all that good. We never really thought to come back, it was just like, okay good lunch. I do remember service being good so there's a plus in their favor but honestly, food is mediocre at best.

Amazing Mexican food here! My wife and I stopped in after a movie at iPic - could not have had a better experience. Highly recommend the spicy margaritas, and the chorizo tacos. They will make them how you like them, and I’m ridiculously picky. The staff could not have been better, stop in here!

So disappointing. Food took 45 minutes to arrive, server was unapologetic, drinks order came out wrong, and the food is perfectly mediocre, neither good quality not made with love. Music is loud on a Saturday night, but not loud enough to cover the screeching of a child behind us (and we were with our own kids). Plenty of other places to try in the neighborhood.

Chicken Tinga is the best I've ever had! William is the most professional owner you've ever met. Doesn't hurt that he's hot too. Fun, great service. Walk don't run to Taco Playa ASAP!

I ordered salsa and chips and carnitas tacos. It took about an hour for both things to come out. There was one waiter for the entire place which was getting packed quickly. The food took so long to come and it really didn't have anything that special on it for it to be $13 and take an hour ? Also salsa and chips is classic no reason to take an hour for that too. Sorry but never coming back

The restaurant was welcome and pleasant. The vibe makes you want to dance and celebrate on a Saturday afternoon to later on the evening. This food had a distinct flavor where I am satisfied that I happily end up paying more. Our waiter Sumi was on point on keeping us (my friends) and other customers happy. Our tables table was full of food for a great price. We drank and ate keep us happy. I recommend coming here for any occasions.

I came here for mealpal and got the steak salad. It was okay, but it was more on the smaller size. I was still hungry afterwards. I came another time for lunch with my coworker. Pretty much you come, grab a seat and wait for the server to come give you the menu and water. We got nachos and the mushroom quesa, and the order took about 50 minutes. You would think the food would taste amazing, but honestly it was average. Kinda like your diner type food but overpriced. I had to rush eat my food so I wouldn't be that late to the office and ended up with a upset stomach. Our server was pretty nice. She was the only one servicing the whole restaurant so I feel her. I finished my water and didn't get it refilled though. Seems like there was only one cook in the kitchen as it took forever for orders to come out. Interior was pretty cool. It seems like your at a beach. That was one of the reason why we came. Overall, if you are feeling Mexican around the area, try Cowgirl Seahorse. Food taste better and service is better.
