I came in with an impossible ask, a meal without lime or tomatoes (the lime is basically in everything). There was one choice. It was delicious though. And the proprietor gets food intolerance and said if I'd called ahead he'd have been glad to set me up with modified dishes. So fellow citric acid people, you few, that's worth knowing. And he was super nice to the kids, setting them up with fancy fruit juice drinks to make up for my lack of options. My spouse got to eat everything, and it was all excellent.Dietary restrictions: Call ahead and he'll help you out!

So sad they closed! Does anyone know what happened? I hope they re-open elsewhere and bring the menu and team.

These cocktails rock my socks. Among the best around. The agave spirits selection? Also, truly world class. The bartenders are tour guides through this world. Run, don’t walk!

I bought the guacamole and sea bass ceviche here, which already came with a ton of chips. I asked for salsa so I can have some classic mexican chile flavpr and they charged me an additional 15 dollars on the bill. It felt scammy. On the bright side food was fresh and the waiting staff was attentive.

We ordered an appetizer of chanterelle mushroom sopes. It’s supposed to be the most spicy food in the restaurant. To be honest, it’s not too bad, and it’s actually delicious. Our entry is al pastor, and you get to make your own tacos. The only problem is that I asked them to get me some extra red sauce, and they charged me 5 bucks for that ?.The churros and drinks are all tasty too.

Love their margs..! And ceviche is right on point! I highly recommend their chips and guac. Chips taste fresh the last 2 times I went. Guac is fresh and not too creamy/mashed. Service was ok - I don't see them going above and beyond but I feel like most restaurants are the same. Cute spot to hang with friends or for a casual date night.

Neither the setting nor the tacos need to be nearly as fancy as they are here, and I was all prepared to grumble about that, but the truth is that if you can put aside the price and the ambience (which was dark and barren on a weekday lunch) this place is just delicious. The homemade tortillas are thin but firm, the four homemade salsas are all excellent, and dispensed in squeeze bottles that you can take home, and even if the pork belly for my al pastor taco was a little uninspired, the tortillas and salsas are so excellent that I just scarfed it down happily.

This place is a hidden gem. Food is really solid, tasty, and healthy! But the drinks are next level. I've gone twice now and have had the Bitter Gringo and it's one of the best cocktails I've had in NYC. And the staff is some of the friendliest people ever. I'd go back here again and again for their drinks.

The food was delicious and the lamb shank is a must have! I was slightly disappointed with the fluke tartare and wish we went with another appetizer. We also got the rice as a side and churros for dessert. Service was friendly, though it's a pet peeve of mine to when the host asks someone to wait at the bar when the restaurant is empty (at least offer to seat them at the table!). We were there on a Wednesday evening for an early 6:30pm dinner and it was packed by the time we left. Ambiance is nice, but the restaurant can be a bit loud. Overall a really lovely dinner!

We order several small plates and the duck tacos. Everything was really good and tasty. The duck would be cut thinner for easy handling. The scallops ceviche has amazing texture and the beef tartar was surprisingly. They have tons of mezcal, really good for tasting. The service was friendly and fast.

If you're into mezcal and great food, this is definitely the place to be! And I'm still amazed how someone knows so much about each individual bottle..

~ Guacamole (4/5) ~I don't know why I have seen reviews complaining the lack of tortilla chips / small portion, I personally think the portion is just right. There are 12 chips, and they are huge! (We are a party of 3 adults and 1 kid) It's not the paper thin kinda chips, but thicker and harder, which I quite enjoy. Guac is delicious, very creamy, fresh, with a great citrusy flavour.~ Striped Bass Ceviche (3.5/5) ~Very citrusy and refreshing ceviche, with gooseberry and celery. I do find it a bit too salty though, otherwise I really enjoyed it. It also came with like 12 chips, we couldn't finish it becoz we also got the chips from guac!~ Al Pastor (5/5) ~The grande dishes are all build your own taco. I personally don't mind getting my hands dirty, and it's fun building the tacos! The dish came with a great presentation. Pork belly is fried to crispy on the outside, with a great charring flavour, and the meat is very tender and juicy. It came with cracklings on top!!!! I love the pork cracklings, they are quite light and very crispy, gave the dish an extra crunch / texture. There are also pineapple, adding some acidic and sweet flavour to lighten up the greasiness of pork belly. Salsa de aguacate is very light, creamy, and mildly flavoured, great sauce to go with the tacos! The dish came with 6 soft flour tortillas, so we made 6 tacos. There are enough lime wedges, onion, cilantro, radishes to build our tacos, all tested very fresh. ~ Long Island Duck (5/5) ~Surprisingly good!!! I thought we'd get like shredded duck that would probably be tough, I was so wrong! They actually served perfectly seared medium rare duck breast and duck confit. The duck skin is very crispy with a thin layer of fat that melts in your mouth, none of those chewy rubbery bullshit. The duck breast is very tender and juicy, and have no tendons. Duck confit is tender, juicy and much more flavourful. I feel like duck breast is a dish that is highly dependent on the quality of meat and cooking skills. I have had duck breast in the past at french restaurants that is not as good as this one. So yes I am pretty impressed that this Mexican restaurant did it right. It came with a sauce, I believe is salsa macha? I don't think how to describe this sauce, but it's sweet and savoury and goes nicely with the duck. Again, we made 6 delicious tacos.~ Churros (5/5) ~Very good churros! There are 4 pieces and they are HUGE. Very thick and long, freshly fried and covered in delicious sugar and cinnamon, and perhaps a small pinch of salt as well? As I did taste a hint of savoury that's almost negligible but I enjoyed it. Crispy, beautiful golden brown outside, with a soft and moist inside. Scrumptious! Will I be back? YesWhilst the price is on the higher end, I think the quality of food justifies it, and our server was attentive. Me and my family had a great night here!

This place is really unassuming, but wow, the food and cocktails were next level. The tuna crudo and the duck were outstanding. The service was really great too. I also loved the idea of being able to take the little sauces home

My wife and I had an amazing lunch at Tacos Guey. Food and service were excellent. Mezcal and tequila selection were amazing. Fortunately, had the opportunity to spend some quality time with the owner who is incredibly knowledgeable about the selection. If you are enthusiastic about mezcal and tequila, you should definitely make a trip to Tacos Guey. It will certainly be worth your while.
