Tai Pan Bakery has been around for a long time, and it’s truly one of the best traditional Chinese-style bakeries around. The pastries are light, fluffy, and not overly sweet — just the way they should be. There’s an incredible variety to choose from, and everything tastes fresh and satisfying.

They specialize in small tarts, slices of Swiss roll cake, and soft buns filled with red bean, roast pork, taro, cream, or salted egg yolk. Every item feels carefully...
Taipan is a bustling bakery that is a staple of our monthly visits to the city. We especially enjoy their pork floss buns, hot dog egg buns, the jelly cakes, Portuguese custard tarts, and the mango dome cakes. All of their items are fabulous really. My husband has been visiting this shop since he was a kid, his mom would bring him on her visits to china town and it is always one of his favorites! We will easily spend 30-40$ on breads and pastries to have for breakfast and snacks...
Best Asian egg tarts! Also try the mango mochi it’s a sneaky incredible thing they have that many people don’t know about. The staff don’t speak much English so if you have allergies it’s kind of hard to communicate but they are great and the pastries are amazing. Also they only take cash!
