Omakase is pretty good for the price. Most of their fish are fresh and flavors are good. Their cod, uni, and scallop were great. Their amberjack appetizer was not as fresh. I suspect most restaurants try to mask their less fresh items with sauce and other flavors and put it up as an appetizer. Atmosphere was crowded and noisy. Service was fast, taking away our plates before we were even done chewing. Didn't mind it too much but it did feel a little rushed.

highly highly recommend Takumi Omakase. It's $89 including 3 appetizer (miso soup, oyster, and miso cod), 11 nigiri (sushi) and 1 handroll. The most unique part of Takumi omakase is they are BYOB, but they also sell alcohol. We made a reservation via resy which was easy. The service was great and very attentive. Everything was flavored perfectly and their ingredients were super fresh. Miso cod just melted in your mouth (perfectly cooked) and oyster with yuzu foam was a good way to start the omakase, super refreshing (I just wish it had less foam though). Of course I loved all the piece they had for nigiri, but unagi with foie gras was my favorite. Typically Salmon is our favorite, but it had a hint of butane gas and wasn't seared all the way. I am assuming the gas was almost out of gas.. but it was still good.My husband and I had a great time here with chef Li and I highly recommend this place and would definitely come back soon!

takumi offers 15-course omakase at $89 per person. At this price, they serve some of expensive ingredients like A5 wagyu, Otoro, Cavier,Uni…with very generous portions (their cut is huge!). We had an amazing time here.

Excellent omakase for an excellent price. We had an amazing, friendly chef. The way he sliced the scallop was truly amazing, I had never seen anything like that and I’ve been to many omakase’s. Our waitress was lovely and the timing is the courses was perfect! We would definitely come again !

Takumi is BY FAR the best omakase dining experience I’ve had in the city. To start, the space itself is very cozy and was the perfect place to spend my mother’s birthday with her on a cold winter night. The staff are extremely welcoming, friendly, and attentive. As two non-sake drinkers, we ordered green tea to accompany our omakase which came with free refills and our waitress always ensured our cups were never empty. The omakase experience goes by quickly but each piece is better than the last. Notably, the ginger foam oyster appetizer and eel hand roll with foie gras was to die for.Just to show how nice the staff were, our waitress accidentally dropped a tea pot near us and despite us assuring we were fine and not bothered at all, the staff served us 3 extra sushi pieces and also gave my mother a delicious mochi ice-cream dessert for her birthday.I’m already counting down the days until I can go back this is a MUST VISIT SPOT!

These Chinese omakase spots need to calm down or get their rice right at least. The fish quality seems ok but when eaten with the rest of the package, it’s a flat and empty dining experience. The guys that work the counter are very friendly though. The person that takes the phone calls needs to work on her customer service skills.

We visited Takumi on a trip to NYC after researching some affordable omakase places in Manhattan. This was our first omakase experience and we were not let down! Although the restaurant is a bit cramped, once you’re seated at the bar you are met with an open and friendly atmosphere. The sushi was amazing for the price; both the experience of having it prepared in front of us and the amazing taste made every dollar worth it. The staff, especially Megan, were extremely friendly and made the dining experience even better. Definitely recommend if you are a first-time omakase trier like us or if you want a bubbly and affordable dinner.
