I chose this restaurant because I love Indian food and I saw an interview with Mike Tyson praising their food. My husband and I were extremely impressed with the service, decor, and delicious food. We went on a Tuesday evening, so the noise level was very low. We were seated in the back at our request. The back has a slightly more romantic feel to it. The next time that I make reservations, I am going to request seating on the second floor just for a different experience. Do not hesitate to make reservations at this gem in Tribeca.
The seafood platter was very sub par I expected more The lobster curry was too tomato filled and didn't have any flavor the white fish was dry Stuffed mushrooms did not have anything special in terms of taste and the amuse boy he was cold fluff pastry with something inside I could not taste Cocktails were fine All in all very poor taste wise it was one of the worst and I have eaten here before and yesterday we seated at 5.30pm so it's not like it was packed
We had an amazing brunch here! The food was delicious, the service was attentive, and the atmosphere was perfect for a relaxing weekend meal. Highly recommend!
Worst Michelin experience. Bad service, food took way too long even tho it wasn't full, food had 0 presentation, no flavor (at least for the veggie options), and waiter was kinda rude. The food is overhyped and good if u have no flavor palette. Don't reccommend!!
Tamarind is a New York jewel - executing at the highest levels. A beautiful ambience, gracious, expert, perfectly calibrated service and outstanding food that is intelligent, refined and sophisticated. Togetehr, all these elements crate a festive, relaxing and extraordinary evening - and the big ceilings keep the festive buzz at a lively, never intrusive level.
Great meal and experience. All of the starters and entrees were delicious. The wait staff was excellent. They were particularly helpful advising us on how many plates to order for our group. Also loved the decor.
The food was excellent. Everything was flavorful and much of it new to us. We especially liked the three shots that we started the meal with. The most elegant Indian restaurant I've ever eaten in.
The food was delicious. I ordered an assorted meat platter. The meat was delicious and very juicy. The appetizer, Lussini Gobhi (cauliflower) was very crispy, just the way I like it. The desert Gajrela was out of the world. The traditional one is generally very sweet. This had the optimum amount of sugar. The server was very polite and attentive and gave great recommendations. I had a great time.
Great as usual. Always on my schedule when visiting NYC, never disappoints. Great food, kind service!
Food was excellent. Servers were polite and very accomodatingl. Cocktails need more work - too sweet for us... but the wine was great. What we appreciated most was it was quiet. No loud thumping music. We could have conversations and enjoy the food without needing to shout at each other.

Lovely setting in Tribeca. Excellent food. Attentive service. Overall a great dinner. Would happily return it n my next trip to NYC
I recently dined at Tamarind Tribeca and loved it! The food was authentic and flavorful—the butter chicken was creamy and perfectly spiced, garlic naan soft and fresh, and paneer tikka masala rich with tender paneer. Portions were generous and served hot.Service was excellent: friendly, attentive staff with great menu knowledge and quick handling of our spice requests, even on a busy night. The ambience was cozy and vibrant, with warm lighting, colorful Indian decor, and soft music—ideal for dates or family outings. Highly recommend; I'll be back!
Food was fine, but when we arrived for our 5:30 reservation, they very rudely told us kids were not allowed (our party included kids ages 4. 7 and 9 - all nyc kids who are used to restaurants fwiw). They claimed that they had made the “no kids” policy clear on their website (which was untrue) and grudgingly told us they'd make an exception “just this once.” Though the restaurant was empty — it being 5:30 — they then tried to seat us in a windowless anteroom and gave me attitude when I insisted on a table in the main dining room. Our party of 6 spent nearly $500, kids were behaved totally fine, and we were out by 7:30 - yet somehow I was made to feel like they were doing me a big favor by accepting my business. I have no idea where this attitude comes from - they're a workman like Indian restaurant in Tribeca, not like the city's hottest club. Anyway I was very put off by the whole thing and shall not be returning.
Went for lunch on a Saturday at noon. Very peaceful ambiance, perfect service, outstanding food. Tons of flavor in the food without being buried in oil, ghee, or too much heat. The kitchen may be lead by a Punjabi chef, but there is clear collaboration of many regions in their food. The best Indian food I've ever had in NY.
Tamarind is my go-to in Tribeca, and in NYC overall. It is consistently excellent in every respect!
