A hidden gem in Harlem! We’re tourists from Paris, and we stumbled upon la Taqueria Santa Fe while exploring Spanish Harlem — and Wow, what a find! Hands down the best tacos we’ve had in New York !! Everything is super fresh and bursting with flavor, made right in front of you with real care. Huge shoutout to the beef Barbacoa taco — the marinated beef was absolutely amazing: tender, juicy, perfectly seasoned… miles above the bland chains you find in Midtown. The spot has such a cool, authentic vibe, and the owner is incredibly friendly. All in all, a total favorite. If you’re in Harlem, do yourself a favor and go. You’ll never look at tacos the same way again.

We came in for the first time after looking for a Mexican restaurant in our neighborhood. We were greeted by Jose, the wonderful owner of this establishment. He was very welcoming, engaging and made us feel completely at home and welcomed in his restaurant. We ordered 3 frozen margaritas (hibiscus, passion fruit and tamarind), which were delicious as well as the cheese quesadillas and beef barbacoa burrito. Overall a great vibe with a family feel, we will definitely be back!!
