Embarking on a culinary expedition to this local taqueria, I found myself ensconced in a veritable fiesta of flavors and textures, a testament to the prowess of the owner, Jose, whose recommendations became the lodestar of our gastronomic journey. The Steak a la Mexicano Tacos were a triumph of generosity, with portions scoring a robust 9/10, each bite a harmonious blend of succulence and spice, though the freshness fluttered at a 7/10, leaving a slight yearning for the zest of just-plucked produce. The Chicken Fajita Quesadilla was a vibrant tapestry of flavor, meriting an 8/10, with the cheese melting into the well-seasoned chicken in a decadent embrace, though the ingredients, while robust, hovered at a 7/10, occasionally lacking the punch of peak harvest vivacity. The Barbacoa Soup was a simmering cauldron of comfort, its depth and complexity cocooning the soul in warmth, yet it too danced around the 7/10 mark for freshness, suggesting a slight detour from the garden's embrace. The service, however, was unparalleled, a perfect 10/10, with staff moving with the precision and grace of seasoned culinarians, ensuring every need was anticipated and met with a smile.Presentation was an 8/10, each dish a canvas where color and form played in delightful harmony, inviting the eye to feast long before the palate. Overall, the experience was a solid 8.5/10, a delectable sojourn that promises to beckon the taste buds back to its doors. This taqueria, under the sage guidance of Jose, melds tradition with a hint of modernity, crafting an ambiance where each visit unfurls new layers of culinary delight.

Spectacular tacos and excellent service. Four of us went on a Monday at 3 pm and we had 10 tacos and nachos for lunch. The tacos were exquisite with a double tortilla, filled with shredded beef, cilantro, onion and tomato. The incredible nachos, with lots of super fresh guacamole and a delicious tomato and onion sauce. We went in because we were in Harlem and we passed by the door but we are going to return because of the exquisite food and service.Vegetarian options: Nachos, vegetarian tacos, quesadillas and others.

It was such a pleasure to meet the owner (Jose from Oaxaca) who takes pride in his 3-year-old taqueria. He gave a sample of poblano rice, black beans and tinga. For lunch, I had the alambre tepito (3 tacos with pork, chicken and beef) and a drink for $14.92. Of the sauces, I prefer the green one (habanero) which is slightly hotter than the red one. I would definitely go back to try their other dishes.

We were stopped at a red light and this place caught our eye. We chose to look it up and check some reviews. They were so high so we looped around the block and went in. Jose, the owner, immediately came over to me and explained the menu. I just needed a few tacos until dinner but Jose insisted I sample the poblano rice, black beans, chicken tinga and barbacoa before I ordered. I couldn't say "No" so I ate it all, and then ordered the steak sandwich, chicken soup and four tacos. Jose gave me a taste of the frosty margarita and the horchata and we continued to talk while I watched the cook prep. We kept on talking and at that point the food almost didn't matter because I was having a such a memorable New York experience. After arriving at home we ate it all, loved all of it and now I'm writing a review. Taqueria Santa Fe is proudly owned, super clean, perfectly casual and priced right. We will be going back for the food and also to say "Hola" to Jose and the staff. Go and try it, you won't be disappointed!

Food is very good. Decent prices. Staff are all nice. All expect the owner, who is a little off at times, watching, standing nearby and making slick comments.

This place is INCREDIBLE. One of the best mexican spots I've tried in the whole city. The service is immaculate, Jose gave me that latino hospitality that you wont find anywhere in the city. The food was spectacular. I ate quesadillas and a soup that WOW.. I was left speechless. The Ambiance is beautiful, nice small restaurant, great salsa playing in the background. Definitely the spot for amazing mexican food.

The food was good, the only nasty thing was that the owner from the restaurant is a pig. While the chef was preparing an order the owner stepped in, he put on his gloves BUT then he grabbed a towel to clean the area and with the same dirty towel and gloves he touched the food that was going to be delivered and he also was touching things around him, this is why people be getting sick from the stomach or bacteria. After I saw this with my own eyes I won’t go there again.
