This is a hidden gem of a restaurant, nestled within the historic landmark of the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum in the Andrew Carnegie Mansion, which is across the street from Central Park at E90th and 5th Avenue.

The food is fresh, high quality, affordable, and delicious!!! Whether it's for a quick panini or wrap of various types, or a salad, wine, or sparkling water enjoyed in the garden, you will enjoy your visit whether for a brief stay or for the day!!!

Vegetarian options: The vegetarian options are clear on the menu and in the display cases.

Kid-friendliness: The restaurant is within the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum, the children will be in a very safe environment, can learn about design, and most of all eat and have fun while learning.

Wheelchair accessibility: The campus is fully accessible!!!

Great service, good coffee. The pastry is a bit overpriced. Fabian the barista was very friendly!

We were treated badly at a cafe. 1.The server never say anything and just make a drink I ordered. 2. He knocks out the puck by hitting it on the side of trash can. 3. I ordered an ice latte, but the milk is not filled enough. So I asked him to fill more milk. He then used the left over hot milk foam that’s in a jar.I came here around 3:30pm on 5/29.

We came to the counter and waited with 4 other customers for 10mins until an employee arrived. Coffee was overpriced and weak. Seating area is lovely.

This cafe was an extremely pleasant surprise. Both of us had a smoked salmon panini, which was absolutely first rate. The oatmeal raisin cookie we shared was very good, and my espresso was excellent. Recommended!

Good place to relax

Just right for meeting friends, it’s become a standby.

We visited on a rainy winter afternoon and my son remarked the hot chocolate was the best he’d ever had. The Pizza was quick (it was a reheat) but still managed to be a crowd pleaser. The Quinoa salad was delicious and a veritable bargain for museum fare at $6.

I have been going to one Tarallucci e Vino or another since the first caffe opened near where I lived in the East Village at least 16 years ago. For many years I had breakfast there about twice a month, and I have had many wonderful lunches at the Union Square restaurant. i occasionally meet friends at the branch on the Upper West Side, and I have had drinks at the new Tarallucci in NoMad. (It does not serve breakfast, alas.) Now I have moved to the Upper East Side and I have looked all over my new neighborhood for a place like Tarallucci—where you can spend twenty minutes getting excellent coffee and a cornetto or two hours eating pasta with friends in the eveing, or anything in between. There are places with good coffee and muffins where you have to take it out or sit on a stool, and there are Italian restaurants that will give you an espresso at the end of your $50 meal, but what the neighborhood lacks is the do-it-all informailty—and high quality—of Tarallucci e Vino. I hope some Facebook reader of this post will know how to contact the owners and urge them to coonsider opening a branch in my new neighborhood (East 70s); it’s near major hospitals, home to people who can afford the delicious panini for lunch, and attractive to retirees who have time to linger over breakfast. My totally self-interested suggestions for a location are the NE corner of 78th and Third Avenue (two empty storefronts) or the SE corner of 77th and Third (former wine store now vacant) or the NW corner of 78th and Second Avenue.

Hot cocoa has watery and had weirdly odd taste to it... my cousin got other food and said it was not very good or filling

Great coffee and cakes and a lovely garden to enjoy them in.
