Tavern on Jane in the West Village is a charming spot with an inviting tavern vibe. It’s the perfect spot to stop by for a beer or a glass of wine. The atmosphere, complete with a large counter and lively diners, is its standout feature. The service was attentive and friendly, adding to the warm environment. I had the buffalo burger, which was cooked medium-rare to perfection—nice although lacking a hint of salt in my opinion and then, for my sweet tooth craving, I went for a dark chocolate brownie topped with vanilla ice cream which was delish! The food is okay only not extremely memorable. Overall, it’s a great place to soak in the ambiance and enjoy good company.

The food was average, service above average, and the atmosphere was great if you love quaint, candlelit restaurant bars. It was super cozy. The paper and crayons on the table were a great touch, and it was a lot of fun to doodle and play some games while waiting for food and after dinner. The pricing here was also reasonable for the city. They had $14-16 wine and cocktail options. Entrees were in the $20s. It looked like quite a few people were there on a first date, and it looked great for that as well!

I was very disappointed at the burger! The burger was burnt the Brussel sprouts were burnt but we were too shy and hungry to ask for another one and tried to finish it but I very much regret it! I liked the ambiance though! It was cute during Christmas. The service was ok too

Another nice restaurant subjected to having animals (dogs) deter others like me from eating in food establishment.I was going there annually for years and enjoyed it greatly. What gives the state the right to allow a filthy animal to enter a food establishment.Sorry but the service dog laws allow anyone stressed to have a dog.Its just an excuse for these ignorant owners to bring fido everywhere and elsewhere. My last visit ended with dog hair in my food.I asked the waiter in the middle of my meal why an animal was in the place. He said the owner cannot do anything about it.Whose restaurant is it anyway.Well sure enough dog hair was in my dish and I could not finish.I did not bother to mention it.The owner should really consider trying to survive financially ,and write our stupid food and drug administration.I rarely eat out anymore.Keep your animal home.We do not need to meet them.
Please get some goddamn ranch
Went there for brunch and got a burger. It was huge and it was delicious!
Went to lunch. Looked great online. Took about 10 min to get our drink order in. I think the guy was bartending and serving, it was busy. I work in the hospitality industry and if I would change anything, I'd let people know ahead of time the kitchen is backed up. Then I'm assuming the mgr came out and he sped things up. Great lunch, great place. I can see why people fancy this sweet little tavern!
Kid-friendliness: Some tables had paper and crayons, which I even had fun with 🙂

Calamari was good. Nice and cozy. Drink selection is subpar. Pork chop and hamburger were over cooked.

I had come in around 10pm and ordered a cup of the soup of the day, but they were out and only had French onion! I was totally okay with that, but it was a $6 up charge from the cup of the day. It would have been kind if the waitress only charged me the price of the regular soup, as only having French onion was out of my control. The French onion soup was phenomenal, but service lacking communication of the up charge.

The bartender was incredibly rude to our party. I asked for a round of espresso martini’s, and look it’s fair enough of they don’t serve them - but he just rudely shouted “no” at us and was condescending when we sat there in silence after being yelled at. As a mixed group of men and women we felt really uncomfortable for the rest of our stay, and left after one drink. I’d probably recommend avoiding this place if I were you.
