Went here for dinner as a last minute decision. Thankfully they still had tables available. Such an beautiful place with mix of old and new. The menu has great selections and there are daily specials for the main course and appetizers. The appetizers portions were perfect. The staff were extremely attentive but not annoying. Love the open kitchen concept. I enjoy watching everyone work together and the different stations setup. Our app choices were the crabcake and watermelon...
Tavern on the Green is always a great place, whether I have family in town visiting and we stop in for a meal, or if I'm out with friends and we pop in for a drink at the bar. The staff is always welcoming, attentive and friendly, the service is always outstanding, and the value for your money is well beyond what you get at most NYC restaurants. Then there's the environment - to dine in such extraordinary surroundings while in Central Park is a truly remarkable experience....
A very good meetup spot in Central Park. Near Central Park West, and 66 Street. Now the entire facility is fenced in, with no contact with the public. I remember when Warner LeRoy owned it, it was very stuck-up. After his passing, his daughter could not keep the legacy. After a mess of court cases from 2009, a few owners tried and failed.
Now, it is not fancy, but at least they have a multicultural staff, whom seem to try hard.
