Let me tell you, Tavola Della Nonna was really cool. Great location, great ambiance. Every thing is delicious! And also, the service was awesome and the staff was very welcoming. Can't wait to go back to Tavola Della Nonna.

Above-average food with authentic, gracious Italian service. A welcome addition to the neighborhood.

We live in a neighborhood and were very excited to see an Italian restaurant opening up. We love Italian cuisine and were hoping that it could be our new favorite spot. Unfortunately, After going there about a month ago we still make fun about how terrible the food was . Simply awful. We had pizza, carbonara and chicken parm and it was bad across the board . I don't know how you can mess up these meals . Why open up a restaurant and then serve bad food ?? They need to hire a new chef ASAP. On a bright note - Service was very nice.

Unfortunately it did not live up to our expectations. It appeals more to the general public (Large portions, heavy sauce, butter, cheese on everything) rather than being true to what ITALIAN food really is (light and high quality). Even the calamari had cheese on it! Huh? The pasta was drowned in cream n butter. Soggy. We couldn’t eat both our dishes. We were hoping for better. I think that space must be cursed since so many restaurants came n left there already. $120 for a dinner I can make better at home in 20 mins. Pass.

The food is quite addictive. Once I had Calamari and meatballs and other dishes.. and I had to go back because I kept thinking about it! The service is great and has beautiful neighborhood environment.

This place is really good! The pizza is superb, the staff is very very nice and accommodating! I really had good time, beside the pizza, I also had very nice calamari and a beatiful dessert: Tiramisu (the best in town so far in my opinion). I really reccomend this restaurant

I stopped in the 3rd night they were open. Place was very busy. Ordered an appetizer with a glass of wine. I decided to order another appetizer, bruschetta, which is basically toast with a tomato/ garlic topping. Waited about 20 minutes for it to arrive. i asked the waiter why it was taking so long. He came back a few minute later and said " I'm sorry it's taking so long. I'll get you another glass of wine" Exact words. To me that means the wine is complimentary for waiting so long. When the bill came , I was charged for the wine. I questioned him about it and he just apologized for the wait, but wouldn't take the second wine off the bill. I then spoke to the owner.who also refused to do anything. 3rd night open and you alienate a customer. Not the way to get customers!

We have had two amazing experiences at Tavola Della Nonna. My daughter celebrated her 13th birthday here with nine friends on a Saturday night. David, the manager, and the entire staff were incredible. The girls had a private room which they loved. They were told the room was sound proof which they loved even more. All the food arrived right on time and was delicious. It was amazing to have a restaurant be so accommodating to our daughter and us. It is a welcomed addition to the UWS and we definitely be returning!

This place is a joke. First of all, we know this location has been doomed for a long time. Anyone who is willing to invest money in opening a new place here better be smart, creative, hospitable and know how to feed New Yorkers, who know what time of day it is. The place has the same dated, cheesy decor as whatever unforgettable place closed down before. I tried going here a few weeks ago around 9pm and they said they were closing soon (They list that they are open until 11). The other night when I went in, I sat at the bar and ordered a pizza and a glass of red wine. The bartender hardly looked at me and never acknowledged any of my requests with a 'Sure, My Pleasure, Of Course' or anything other than running right to the computer to get it in. I observed the whole bar and wait staff talk to each other and check cell phones during my painful 45 minutes at this place (Which is just a few blocks from my apartment and next door to the wonderful neighborhood institution Cafe Luxembourg). Luckily it was just the extra salty pizza that I ordered, because I would really have been upset if I had to endure a full meal here. Run from this place as it will be out of business very soon. I was excited for a new neighborhood Italian spot but I'm offended that they would think they could pull one over on us. Not a lot to choose from on The Upper West Side in terms of great Italian but this is unfortunately among the absolute worst.

First time there. Nona meatballs were to die for. Great selections of different pizzas which were amazing. Sat by the bar and watched the artisanal pizzas being made. Awesome chicken parm as well. Def a trip worth taking.

In few words: this is not for first generation italians, especially in Manhattan. UWS has tons of other great options for restaurant, including italians!

Cozy front room with liquor and pizza bar, private rooms for small parties, large rear dining area. Elegant lighting and decor. Food a bit pricey for side street address. However, I would return.

Place is great, took our daughter here for her 28 birthday everything from the host and hostess, to the wait staff were super friendly. The food was fresh and tasty. Clean, nice decor and service was impeccable. It’s a must try.

My husband and I came to Tavola Della Nonna on Valentine's Day. We loved it! The first thing we noticed was that the restaurant is very pretty and spacious - the tables were not on top of each other and it was easy to have a conversation. The food was reasonably priced and delicious with many good wine options that didn't break the bank. We shared a chopped salad that was excellent, then had a veal chop special and the bronzino. We enjoyed it all. And the service was pleasant and efficient. This is a great addition to a neighborhood sorely lacking for good dining options. We can't wait to go back to try the pizzas and pastas.

We had high hopes as we walked through the door; the space looks lovely.... After that everything went downhill. The old adage of you can judge a restaurant by its bread holds true. The breads had a strange oily texture on one and a hard texture on the other, neither quite right. My husband ordered the Chicken Parmigiana, and I ordered the Eggplant Parmigiana. When I asked what type of pasta came along with the dish,I was told none. Rather odd at $24 and $30 respectively that you would not add some pasta to the plate. Our waiter who truly was so lovely explained that for $12 we could have a side of pasta to share. Dishes arrive without a serving piece to serve said side order of spaghetti. Both dishes were very bland. I asked if grated parmigiana could be left on the table, no that was not possible? On to dessert... We order two Chocolate Martinis and a slice of chocolate cake. Martinis arrive and they look like a Manhattan, as they are clear? The waiter apologizes profusely, and takes them away. The cake arrives and is frozen solid. The waiter comes and takes that away. Owner/manager sends over a Tiramisu and two Limoncellos . We get the bill and we have been charged for the tiramisu and a random cocktail???? the waiter comes and takes that away. The waiter was the highlight of the meal as he seemed to feel awful about what was transpiring. My Nonna certainly would not approve of any one of these transgressions. In this environment of restaurants being so costly to open how is this even possible???
