Very nice experience overall. Great food and one of the most amazing tiramisu's in a long time. Very friendly and nice service. Just wish that main dishes did not come out at almost the same time as the appetizers.

Walked in weekday dinner as looked busy walking by. Two showcase tables street side before door. Long communal table and bar further in. Old school decor in-line with long history.
Obvious many regulars. Likely less crowded weekday lunch. Happy hour ends early at 5pm.
Dinner at 6pm asked to leave in 1 hour. Stream of customers.
Food is great. Salumu and cheese with olives reliable starter paired well with house chianti.
Pizza brick oven. Dough chewy perfect. Asked bolognese sauce spaghetti instead. Not too salty, also perfect.
Next table ordered mare with much seafood. Will order next time.
Tiramisu and decaf cappuccino hit the spot.
Server was cordial uplifting. Only spec didn't know soda fountain refill charged again. Small change but, if so, would have expect bottle or can.

Tavola, a cozy Italian spot in New York with a warm and inviting ambience, offers a pleasant dining experience, but I was disappointed with the clams à la vongole. While the spaghetti was nicely al dente, the dish was too dry with not enough garlic and white wine sauce to bring it together, leaving it lacking in flavor. A little more sauce would have made all the difference in what is otherwise a charming place to enjoy a meal.

The food and atmosphere were decent, but our experience was ruined by our server, Darwin C. From the start, things felt rushed. We had barely sat down before being asked about drinks, and when we asked for a little more time (literally two minutes in), it seemed to annoy him.
Later, when I asked if they served fries, his response was unnecessarily rude: “This is an Italian restaurant!” Ironically, the menu also features Turkish figs on a pizza. So why act like the place is too “authentic” for a simple question?
Overall, the service really brought down what could have been an okay meal. Wouldn’t recommend unless you want to get treated poorly by rude staff.

I'm here at New York for a vacation from Florida. Stopped by afterwards from a convention and they were able to accomodate a party of 6 with no issue. Food and service was excellent and I thought the menu was fairly priced. I don't have pizza or pasta reviewer credentials, but do think it is worth a visit.

This place has gone downhill. I went here for a date night dinner — while the atmosphere was cozy and intimate, the food and service were terrible. Our waitress was scratching her back in front of everyone while the manager was right there. Even the manager seemed unbothered and didn’t care about service or quality
The food was just as bad:
• Fried calamari – awful. The coating fell apart, it was overcooked, rubbery, and completely tasteless.
• Steak (New York strip) – tough, chewy, and under-seasoned. Ordered medium rare, but it was still bad. I lost my appetite.
• Pasta – dry, though at least it had some seasoning.
Overall, not worth it.

Came here for dinner since it’s near my apartment and I was pleasantly surprised! The food was excellent! I got the Viddana pizza, gnocchi and the olives. I loved everything and the place is so cozy and cute.
