Telio used to make an incredible salmon salad. You'd get a nice piece of perfectly cooked salmon in a delectable piccata sauce, alongside a hearty salad with beefsteak tomatoes, perfect lettuce and green peppers, and an incredible Balsamic vinegar dressing. It got me through many tough times and medical crises. I ordered it frequently and was so sad when they closed.

I was so relieved when Telio was saved from closing and moved in with Good Enough to Eat. But I went there last week and I am STILL miserably ill with food poisoning. The salmon was "rare," which I decided to try. BIG MISTAKE. I spent the night after that dinner waking up every two hours to run to the bathroom. Also, the tomatoes in the salad were either one step from spoiled or completely spoiled. And they ruined the piccata sauce by adding sugar to it!

Do not patronize Telio. Their quality has plummeted. At best you'll be disappointed. At worst, you'll have explosive diarrhea.

Underrated Greek spot in UWS!
Am not too experienced with Greek food, but I really enjoyed the food! The somewhat high price came with a large portion of really good food. The bread was much more flavorful than I expected. We got a Tyrokafteri (red pepper and feta cheese spread) that was really tasty with the pita. The Tilapia Mediterranean was really nicely cooked a little crispy on the edges, and went really nicely with the rice and tomato flavors. The Greek Sampler was huge! The fries were fresh and crispy, and the meats were a nice sample of everything, and likely enough food for two to share.

The desserts are likely the most underrated here. We only got a Pumpkin pie, but I was really impressed by the flavor and texture. It was surprisingly sweet, flavorful, and aromatic yet not as heavy as I would expect for a dessert. I would definitely go back to try the other desserts if I was in the area!

My husband and I often have brunch at this restaurant when it’s “Good Enough To Eat” which is always delicious. So I’m sad to say that the Greek menu was not up to the breakfast standard. The hummus was too lemony, without any garlic flavor. It was basically tasteless. I ordered the stuffed cabbage with lemon potatoes. It comes in a bowl swimming in a lemon butter sauce. The meat in the cabbage was mediocre at best with a very thin cabbage wrapped around it. It also did not look appetizing. The potatoes had so much lemon it was almost like biting into a lemon. It was so strong I couldn’t eat it. My husband had a gyro platter which was much better but we’ve had better from other Greek restaurants. The fries were the best thing on that plate. Also, I let the waitress know but she charged me for it anyway. We won’t come back to the Greek tavern but will continue to visit for brunch.

The service was very slow even though we were the only table inside the restaurant. Everyone else sat outdoors. We could see the servers standing and talking to each other in the back as we were waiting for the check. The chicken was very overcooked.

NEVER in all my dining experiences have I been to an eatery such as Telio restaurant. The hůmmuse reminded me of my time spent in mikonos in the late 70s. Oh! What a time. Thank you for bringing me back. The dancing, the music, the fashion, it all came flooding back. Thank you telio! Telio, you are enchanting and you are love. The atmosphere touches the soul, beautiful! So glad I stumbled upon this place that only serves dinner.

I would recommend the halloumi.

Vegetarian options: Telio had a lot of vegetarian options! T(elio) for Top Notch.

Dietary restrictions: you are beautiful just the way you are! pls don't diet! but if you do, i would recommend eating at telio's restaurant!

Kid-friendliness: love kids!

I organized a party of 15 people for a graduation ceremony for my daughter. The reservation included two babies and a dog. I had called a number of restaurants in Manhattan, looking for a place to accommodate us that included vegan options and was not able to find much.
Telio Taverna exceeded all of my expectations. Most importantly, the food was absolutely delicious. The wonderful waitress we had was able to manage 15 people giving her individual orders and getting the food to the table still hot. The outdoor atmosphere was perfect. The management clearly removed two tables to make room for our little ones and the dog. Nobody felt cramped.
I highly recommend this restaurant for its atmosphere, it’s food, and its staff. Everything was perfect! thank you Telio Taverna!

Local Upper West Side Greek restaurant with plenty of charm. Reservations are a must unless you go after 8 on a weekday. Food is good, flavorful and the portions are big. Nice outdoor seating especially if the weather cooperates. Inside seating has a warm ambience. Great food, reasonably priced a winner in my book!!!
