Wanted to have a solo date night while I was finishing up some holiday shopping.
This was in walking distance.
Really loved the ambience & it wasn’t crowded at all.
I got there around 5:30/6
Hosts were fun & energetic
Bartender looked & acted like he would rather be somewhere else- I had to keep asking to be waited on which was super annoying.
I got the short rib pierogis & they were very much not worth $16, maybe $10 at best. They weren’t even hot when I got them lol
The popcorn was a cute touch & it actually wasn’t stale so nice job there!
Nothing worse than walking around the city & wanting water & the glass is the size of a middle finger
I really enjoyed my birthday martini so I would come back just for drinks

I’ve always had great experiences at this bar and love the popcorn, but last night was really disappointing. The bouncer was unnecessarily rude and aggressive. We’ve walked in before with no issues, but this time he started yelling “reservations only” when we asked if they had space, mind you there was no line. Then he began shouting “no jerseys” repeatedly at a random guy who wasn’t even with us. Bars that hire power-hungry men like this really need to rethink their approach. Won’t be coming back.
Came here tonight for a cocktail with a friend. The male bartender (tall blonde) made us want to leave as soon as possible, not only was he not welcoming but also he half filled our drinks. STAY AWAY. Guy obviously hates his job and should move on.

Friend was wearing shorts, actually nice tasteful ones. The bouncer said no shorts you can't come in. Right then a woman came out wearing the shortest booty shorts you can imagine... Guess that dress code isn't really enforced. Sucks because I've been here many times and enjoyed it.. Never again.

Fabulous spot. I come here often. It’s a total vibe and great drinks. Superb service. Disco, the bouncer, at the door is the man. Really nice and also inspires a feeling of safety and strength. I felt very welcome and we had a great night. Try the delicious popcorn!

This spot has a nice and sophisticated atmosphere, but unfortunately, the staff completely ruined the experience. From the moment I walked in, every interaction I had with the employees was rude and unprofessional.
One staff member in particular, who was flamboyant in manner, showed the worst hospitality I’ve ever experienced.
The bar area was also extremely tight. While I was simply trying to hand my friend her birthday flowers and take a quick photo, this man rudely told us to move and not block “his area.” His approach was unnecessarily harsh and disrespectful.
Then the same man, APPROACHED US asking if we wanted a table for my party, i told him hold on let me confirm the count, I briefly turned to count and within seconds, he gave the table away. When I turned back to let him know, he abruptly threw his hand up, said “I can’t, I can’t, give me a few”, and walked away without even explaining that the table had already been given to someone else. Meanwhile, the person he gave it to, he was nicely asking them about their party and they weren’t even all there at the moment to be seated. He dismissed us in a very cold matter, which didn’t make sense.
The bartender wasn’t any better. A tall white man with glasses, he carried himself with a miserable attitude, no smile, no warmth, just cold stares that made guests feel unwelcome. If someone dislikes their job so much, they shouldn’t be working in this type of atmosphere. The waitress collecting drinks also carried the same unhelpful, dismissive energy.
To make matters worse, as I left with my husband, I overheard the flamboyant staff member and his friend making comments and laughing about us on the way out. That level of unprofessionalism is beyond unacceptable.
People come here to enjoy themselves and spend their hard earned money, not to deal with rude, untrained, and miserable staff. This place desperately needs to retrain their employees on how to treat guests with respect. Because of the horrendous behavior I experienced, I will never step foot here again.

I was a waitress at the Temple Bar back in the day. The place was amazing. The drinks were divine and the food was well prepared.
2 stars for the bartender and the ambience, which is however ruined by the most pretentious and rude host (who was there on July 25th) I have ever encountered at any bar in nyc. He needs to lose the attitude, learn how to speak clearly, and learn how to be a host. He really ruins the whole vibe of the place. I will not be returning.

Very overrated. The host asked us if we were OK standing even though there were plenty of places to sit our drinks took 40 minutes and several minutes to get our check after one drink. Overall, they are understaffed but also act like they are crowded when they’re not.

Giving 3 stars JUST for the ambiance and the beautiful hostess. I've never encountered a more rude bartender in my life. Lack of profesionalism and arrogant attitude of the guy left me speechless. Waited for him half and hour to ask for a drink and left because he was so bothered. Its crazy how stuck up can someone that works in hospitality can be, especially when tip is 20, 25 or 30% of your bill in NYC

Giving a one star is generous. Immediately upon entering we felt the unwelcome vibe. Don’t waste your time here if you value your self worth. Overrated and not even good (according to the other reviews) also the bouncers have a ego complex, please humble them
