One does not stumble upon Temple Bar; one arrives, as if by design, or fate. Outside, a threshold rather than an entrance. Inside, low lighting, conspiratorial. The bar gives the sense of permanence, as if it has always been there. Behind it: shelves meticulously stocked, not crammed but composed.

Cocktails here are not invented; they are rendered. The Negroni is exemplary and there is a kind of intelligence behind the bar, not loud, but deeply felt. Snacks...
Impressive cocktail menu. I loved my olive oil martini! The best popcorn! Quiet, comfortable - we sat at the bar. The bartenders were attentive and warmed up to us throughout our stay. We did not have reservations; just from the experience with the host, it seemed like they would be helpful. I would go back!
Bouncer was fine. Seems authoritarian but in a security conscious way. Did not feel he was rude, just a New Yorker.
The waiter was such a lovely guy. He really brings the vibe of the place up :))
Atmosphere was good. Decent music. Great soft drinks. The popcorn snack was cheap, gross and too salty though. Replacing with simple potato chips would be much better.
Strange to only have 1 toilet open.
