This place is kind of a grungy and old and is definitely not a place to go on a date, but it had some positives. It is spacious with ample seating. The menu has a wide selection too with reasonably priced entrees ($10-$15) with large portion sizes. Like most Mexican places in Manhattan with cheap margaritas, the food is not that authentic though and leans more towards Tex-Mex (chimichangas, flautas, etc.). Tequila Chitos's is an okay place if you know what to expect before...
I won't say that it is the best restaurant in the world, but it is one of the few places in New York where you can have a quiet bite to eat, have some cocktails or beer, and what can I say about the food, it is very tasty, my only complaint is that the food portions in the orders are very small, I invite you to dress in the Chelsea neighborhood in NYC.
The one time I ordered nachos, I received a plate with 5/6 chips on it, each one individually had some beans and cheese on it. Very disappointing for 12.95, I thought it was going to be a plate of nachos.
