Tom Kha Soup
This is not your average sweet-and-sour soup. It is subtly sweet and creamy from the coconut cream, tangy from freshly squeezed limes, and balanced with the saltiness from fish sauce to round it all out. It is also infused with a whole medley of Thai herbs. By the way, the broth is not Kosher or vegan.
Drunken Fried Rice
Fried Rice is a versatile dish that leaves room for creativity. We certainly have our own way of making it. You will get the smoky flavored rice with pungent basil with a dash of lime squeeze that gives another dimension of the taste. You can add extra poached egg for creaminess. Don't forget to let us know how spicy you want it to be.
Chicken Satay
Thai curry flavor and coconut milk are added to the peanut sauce, making it richer and stronger than others. Pickled vegetables play an important role in balancing the tastes and cleanse the palate. Satay is a staple of street foods, and in the old days, was sold at food carts across the country. At Terra Thai we pan seared the seasoned chicken meat, top it with our peanut sauce and serve it with pickled vegetables. By itself it is a good appetizer, and with a side of rice, it makes a great meal. We'd let you in on a small secret: Try spreading our peanut sauce over a toasted bread before topping with chicken and pickles.
Braised Pork over Rice
Braised Pork over rice. Pork shoulder is braised until super tender with a Thai version of Chinese five-spice (star anise, cloves, cinnamon, coriander roots, bay leaves. Thais eat this with rice, poached egg, pickled mustard greens, and chili sauce.
Kua Kling: Stir fried Turmeric Chicken with Caramel Chicken
A set for adventuresome eaters. Southern Thai food is famous for its spicy flavors. The distinct and bold taste of turmeric, lime leaf, and black pepper make this stir-fry a must try. Caramel chicken and poached egg accompany this dish to tone down the strength of its flavor.
Khao Pad Kra Prao
Basil Chicken over rice. We cook this signature street food as closely as you can find on the street of Bangkok - diced chicken in basil sauce served with sunny-side up egg. Simplicity is the key here. You will be surprised how much flavor is packed in this simple dish.
Green Curry with Butternut Squash
This classic green curry is medium hot, mildly sweet, and salty. It is a little thinner than Panang curry but more tangy. Slightly sweet butternut squash helps add breadth to the curry. We serve this curry with poached egg and steamed vegetable.
Beef Panang Curry
Panang is like a misunderstood kid. It is less spicy and sweeter than green curry, but its flavors are more balanced. We keep vegetables that may water down the flavors as the side dish. Panang is also thicker than other Thai curries - too thick to be eaten alone as a soup. The best way to enjoy it is a few spoonful of Panang over rice, one at a time - the way you'd eat Japanese curry or Indian Saag Paneer. Sorry we don't make it with other meat except beef. Try it and you'd love it.
Pad Si Ew
Another iconic Thai stir-fried noodles. We stir-fry flat rice noodles, crisp Chinese broccoli, and moist egg with a sweet and soy- based sauce. The saltiness of this dish is balanced with a subtle sweetness and chargrilled flavor. If you like it a bit spicy and tangy, we recommend slices of pickled jalapeno on the dish.
Pad Thai
We pan-fry thin, flat rice noodles and add tamarind-based sauce to make it sweet, salty and sour. Freshly-squeezed lime gives a refreshing tang, while bean sprouts give crunchiness to the dish. We do pat thai with chicken, but can also offer this dish with tofu.
Sen-Jan Drunken Noodles
Try our Sen-jan Drunken Noodles. It's a long thin rice noodle - a close cousin of the thick noodles normally used for this dish. They are chewier and even absorb the sauce better. With Sen-jan, we feel that an old dish is new again. Sounds like a perfect dish for Gotham's Phase 2, indeed.

Suki Noodles
We stir-fry wide rice noodles with this Suki sauce along with crisp napa cabbage and Chinese celery. It comes with Chicken, Shrimp or Tofu. It has all flavors that you would expect from a good Thai street food – salty, tangy, sweet and spicy. And, of course, that unique Sriracha flavor.

Terra Thai was recommended as a “best lunch spot” on Reddit so my fiancé and I went during a day trip from Baltimore. He had the basil chicken which was sublime and I had the amazing drunken noodles. We shared the most delicious pork dumplings. The food was stellar but the best part was the service! So kind and friendly! We will be back and I hope everyone visits and supports this business when in the east village.

I unfortunately moved away from NYC, but writing this review cause I was thinking about the basil chicken tonight. Truly one of the hidden gems of NYC. The owners are incredible and kind, just amazing human beings. And the food is to die for. The basil chicken is one of the best dishes I've ever eaten. Unique, fresh, and spicy. Check it out if you are in the area!

I had high expectations for Terra Thai, but I found it underwhelming. After chatting with the hostess about my allergies, I ordered the green curry. The dish was fine, but nothing spectacular about it. The restaurant is charming with a cozy atmosphere. The prices were great, but the food wasn’t as great as I hoped.
