This place is so homey. As a Thai who hasn't been back home for years, the dishes here really hit the spot. Their crab curry is very aromatic and rich in flavor (with a nice kick too). The softshell crab was so divine and the pork was delicious. We would definitely recommend!

Great ambiance and amazing staff was super welcoming and attentive.
I had the Sai Ua Spring Rolls and the Ka-Prow Stewed Beef, and both were delicious. The garlic chili sauce had the perfect amount of spice. I really wanted to try the Miang-Kham, but it wasn’t available.
I’ll definitely be back!

Only my second time visiting since Tha Praya opened a few years ago. The first time, I dined in and loved it. This time, I and a few others ordered for takeout.
We got the pad Thai, Nam Tok moo, stir fried seasonal vegetables, squid, and pork pad krapow and everything was delicious! The Nam Tok was the star for us, and my friend who was against ordering two noodle dishes was extremely happy we got it.
Will be back. Tha Praya is a top 5 Thai spot for me in NYC (along with Sukh, Soothr, Pranakhon).

What a letdown. Came here confident that I would have a great dinner and it was anything but that.
I had a strong craving for crab fried rice and determined Tha Phraya would be the place. Pictures looked great with high praises all around.
I visited on a weekday evening. The food came out suspiciously fast (<3 mins). Didn’t think much of it until I tasted the rice and it was dried out. That can sometimes happen during the frying as the edges get crisp so I kept eating and ALL of the rice was dry. Then it made sense - it tasted as if they had made this during lunch service perhaps and it sat out the entire time. A feat in itself to be so dry yet greasy from the oil with no flavor, while being bright orange. I assume the crab flavor was meant to come from the meager scoop of crab meat on top which was cold. Likely canned crab meat which is understandable but what a weird combination it was to be eating cold crab meat with warm egg (no complaints on the egg here) with room temp dry rice. I packed what was left out of habit then threw it out. It certainly was not worth the calories nor the dollars spent.
I want to ask the staff if they would be happy paying $32 for what they served. Guess they wouldn’t know as they didn’t come by after bringing the dish except to fill my water glass that didn’t need filling as it was mostly full. Did not appreciate being THE diner they thought they could dump poor quality leftovers before peak dinner hours.
This was so atrocious, I would be embarrassed to bring anyone here. Maybe this isn’t their strong suit but I expected better from a Bib Gourmand restaurant of all places.

Love this place! Food, service and atmosphere are all wonderful. Crab curry is delicious, but if you can’t handle spice order something else. This is my new spot!
