It was a long time ago that my friends and I went to this restaurant. We visited NYC several times and visited this place more than once. Two times with the last time being almost unacceptable, I remember vividly were the ones where the “waitress”, or I assumed (she could be in management team or something, we didn’t know), was very rude to us after we paid and didn’t tip the amount she, or they, wanted. That person has probably left the restaurant by now, but I just remembered how rude she was to us. We’re Thai and at the time we were young. We always tip and I’m absolutely sure the amount we tipped at this restaurant were appropriate amounts, tho it isnt or shouldnt be our job in the first place but I understand the system, but we didnt tip here much more than we need to. The words, the expressions, and the way that Asian lady who worked at this place chose to use with us were inappropriate and quite unacceptable. I often tip more than I need to if I simply want to (because of the service or the staff themselves) and always pay respect to people in general, so I see no reason why this should’ve happened if it wasn’t for the entitlement of the staff. That woman and the staff did absolutely nothing for us every time we went too, we didn’t even experience general warmth or friendliness in fact, besides serving the foods to us. We ended having to tip more of course as that staff came to our table outside and basically demanded it. How entitled and obnoxious of these people.

Lovely thai spot on the upper west. We got the pad see ew, drunken noodles and tom kha soup. Everything was delicious and the perfect amount of spiciness without going overboard. Highly recommend!

Loved having my small birthday dinner here. Food was good and service was good as well. My two friends had ordered a slice of cake for dessert while I went to the restroom so I was pleasantly surprised when it was delivered at the end of our meal. Very pleasant experience and I think my friends agreed.
We have never had a bad meal here. While pricy, we love their expansive menu. It is always delicious.
Flavorful and aromatic. You can taste the freshness of every ingredient, and the balance of savory, sour, and spice is spot-on. Light, comforting, and deeply satisfying. Easily one of the best red curry and drinks I’ve had.

The main dishes and entrees are very good however their Roti Canai is not soft and flaky like a traditional Roti canai. The roti taste premade and not fresh. Their dipping sauce for the Roti is something to leave much to be desired.

The food is always excellent. We go there frequently. And the ambiance is very nice. I enjoy all the aspects of it. And the service is always great!
Delicious Thai food except for chicken dumplings which were filled with garlic...obviously I don't like garlic. The fried soft shell crab with a little salad was fantastic along with the sea bass entree and pineapple fried rice! Absolutely yummy! Their liquor pours were very generous too. We will def be going back!!

We tried Thai72 for the first time this week and had a nice meal. They had a cozy atmosphere, with Christmas decor all around.
My boyfriend ordered the one of the curries ($18+ for Tofu or Vegetables) and I had the Healthy Soup ($10+ for Small) + Roti Canal ($16+).
The Roti Canal felt a bit pricey considering the size / amount, but I loved it and would order it again.
The Healthy Soup was also exactly what I wanted with plenty of vegetables, although it too, was a bit pricey for what it was. They could make the small one a bit smaller and less pricey. (The large is $15+)
The service was fine and it was a decent meal overall. I’m happy to add Thai72 to my restaurant repertoire in UWS.
