Makes sense why this place has a ton of negative reviews. The manager (after I ordered and paid for multiple drinks and food) told me I can't have an outside drink - a half empty container of OJ. The internet only lasts for 2 hours. You don't find this out until after you get your receipt - which you must use in order to access the internet. If I had known this I would have spaced out my orders throughout the day. The girl working the register was very sweet, kept getting yelled at by the manager and rolled her eyes at him when he proceeded to get into multiple arguments with different patrons. If you're able to avoid this place, do yourself a favor and go anywhere else.

Small nice coffee shop, coffee was mediocre and, not a lot of options for food. Can't bring food from outside so won't be coming back.

Super rude! Don’t wait around if you’re brown.

Last Friday, at approximately 3 PM, I stopped in to meet with a friend who was running a little late. At the counter, I politely and cordially asked if I could use their restroom before making a purchase, as I was waiting for my friend. However, I was respectfully denied, and I understood their position. I stood off to the side on my phone to wait inside because it was cold outside. Literally no more than two minutes later, I was approached by what seemed like a manager, who passive-aggressively warned me that if I didn’t make an immediate purchase, I would likely have to leave the premises. They weren’t even busy, and I was mindful not to block the entrance or cashier space.

All things aside, I’m a native New Yorker and work in the service industry, so I understand the struggles of dealing with the public. Still, I can’t help but feel that there may have been some kind of bias in the staff’s actions. I frequent this coffee shop from time to time to do work, and I’ve never experienced anything like this before at any coffee shop. I’ll probably continue stopping by occasionally, but I think the staff should have a better judgment of character and be less presumptuous and more professional towards people who don’t fit their traditional customer demographic.

They also got my whole milk cappuccino wrong and added oat milk, and they upcharged me even though I referred to my milk option as "regular milk" instead of "whole milk." I didn’t want to complain because I already felt ostracized and uncomfortable.

The vibe is so cute but the drinks were not that great to be honest. The baristas were nice but the drinks disappointed :(

Grabbed an açaí bowl here on Sunday morning before heading to the airport. They have a large selection of bowls and smoothies which was nice. I ordered the Kneel bowl and it was served with a good portion of granola and fruit on top. Nothing special but was a good quick breakfast. Husband said that the frozen Mona Lisa was not as good as the equivalent drink that he normally orders at Starbucks, but he enjoyed his poppy seed bagel with cream cheese well enough. Good for a morning when you need something quick and easy.

Met with my dear friend and extremely successful & talented artist Brian Soigné Wilson. I acquired a lovely print from him and we wept and spoke about our fun times through the years. He’s a beautiful man and a loyal and lovely friend. ❤️🫶🏻🖤🤗

I want to love this place with its time capsule romance vibe. It’s giving 90s grunge coffee shop vibes. The tea is pretty good which is no small detail given how difficult it is to find a correct temp black tea adequately brewed etc in New York. There is some attitude to go with the time travel unfortunately. The key of shame for the bathroom is bad enough (was this key ever cleaned?) but having to buy your tea before receiving access to the key is not cool. The city needs cafe culture. Cafe culture can only exist where people can hang out and part of hanging out is the ability to pee when one has to. I get it— they get people coming in just to use the bathroom and leaving it disgusting but alas this is the burden of having a great spot. But big props for staying alive and not seeming very corporate. Yet.

I visited this place hoping to enjoy a coffee and get some work done on my laptop, but it was nearly impossible. The music was so loud that even with earphones, I couldn’t focus. The ambiance is nothing special—just your average coffee shop, no standout features.

Staff was friendly and patient in troubleshooting the wifi connectivity issue I experienced. The juice I got was delish, and the music they had in store was amazing - Can't ask for more in a cafe.

I stumbled upon The Bean this morning, and I'm so glad I did! This charming coffee shop has it all.

The open space is inviting, with a peaceful atmosphere perfect for studying or meeting friends. The staff are friendly and unobtrusive, letting customers enjoy their experience without unnecessary chatter.

The menu is impressively diverse, offering organic smoothies, protein shakes, bagels, bowls, scones, muffins, and more. I opted for a delicious bagel, but I'm eager to try more.

The artwork adds a playful touch, with quirky pieces like Mona Lisa in a rocket ship (genius!). But what truly sets The Bean apart is its thoughtful approach to customer interaction. Their "Gem Wristband" system allows patrons to signal their openness to conversation or desire for solitude. Brilliant!

Overall, The Bean's unique vibe, tasty treats, and considerate staff make it a standout spot.

I remember this place and the other locations were open until 2 AM before the pandemic. Those were good days
