This was such a great omakase experience! The sushi was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere of the restaurant was a perfect balance of lively yet not too loud. But what truly made the experience the best was the service. The staff is kind and attentive, always prompt, efficient and pleasant. Our server Felix made our evening wonderful especially with her expert knowledge of the menu and recommendations. I will be recommending Sushi on Jones to friends!

Roadside kiosk - quality sushi for a song. Grab some sake at Astors nearby and have a sushi meal on the go with none of the fuss and little of the expense of the temples.

I visited Sushi on Jones on my recent trip to NYC because my nieces begged me and I had very low expectations and I will elaborate. It is social media "famous"which to me is already a red flag It is not a restaurant in any traditional sense, it is more of a shack you would see beachside There are no beverages aside from cola water and tea The "manager" is also the server on a Saturday, I have never seen that anywhere and she looks like she should be in some sort of magazine not managing a "famous" restaurant All this being said it is hands down the best experience I have had in NYC! The manager was unbelievable! I wish I remembered her name so I can thank her for going above and beyond. She not only directed my fiancee to the nearest liquor store but made us feel like we were her only customers despite having quite a few. It was the girls first Omakase experience and she basically held their hand through it. She not only explained the fish but where they came from, the toppings and why each item goes with each topping. She described all the nuances and what we should look for flavor wise. In a city where there are so many restaurants and snobby restaurant people this was an amazing experience. I can see why the owner has her in charge, I have not stopped raving about it as did the girls. I sent a friend who was in town over but unfortunately the girl wasn't working but a young man who from what I was told was pleasant it just wasn't the same experience. I think everyone should try this place at least once and hopefully get a day the girl is working.

Sushi on Jones in Bowery was highlighted and starred on my recent trip to NY. My friend made reservations prior. As soon as we got on the same street a host was able to locate us and find us a table immediately. Their slogan less talk more eat definitely applies here. I recommend studying the menu prior to learn about the most popular dishes so by the time you come here you don't waste time. This place is so well managed. Everything from the waiters to the chefs. I did the 20 course omakase and my friends and I also ordered the miso soup, A5 wagyu nigiri, crispy King salmon nigiri, avocado and cucumber maki, blue crab California maki. Personally the 20 course omakase for the price was great in value. You get a little bit of everything and if you don't like specific cuts of fish just let your waiter know and they can sub something out. For the omakase, I loved the handroll, scallop, toro and A5 the most. My friend and I found ourselves pausing after each bite to appreciate each cut. Amazing textures and great buttery flavors. The crispy King salmon and A5 nigiri are must orders if you love those types of fish. The miso soup was no joke as it had plenty of enoki mushrooms and a rich broth. Definitely tasted fresh and less of the powdery version. If you want qualify sushi right around Bowery this is your spot. Service and execution definitely deserves 5 stars. Prices are reasonable and the menu is very extensive. Even for folks that aren't fans of raw fish you'll definitely find something here. I knew I had to get the omakase here and it was well worth it. If you want a more intimate and private dining experience you'll have to find a table close to the chef vs on the street with all of the noise.
