Excellent value for the meal- we have had more expensive omakase that was not as delicious as the Chemistry Room. And the chef even seared my fish because unlike my husband who loves raw sashimi, I prefer the texture of cooked fish. Both the chefs and the servers were very attentive to the guests, asking what was the occasion and bringing out a dessert with candle for one of the guests celebrating a birthday.

12 round Omakase was delicious, and presentation was beautiful. Our sushi chef Kay was amazing and every piece was *chef's kiss*. Will absolutely be returning the next time we are in NY

With a catchy name I spotted this restaurant and had to try it out. They put a unique twist to Omakase. They offer a blend of taste from different countries that puts a modern twist to a Japanese dinning experience which is something worth checking out for yourself. I recommend the 15 course and to pair it with some sake. The service is great, the chefs friendly, and overall great experience! The decor is fabulous, however I would say its not on the top of my list for taste. However, as someone who is often looking for a dynamic food experience in NY I would definitely return to try their seasonal menus. As for drinks, I would of liked to see more of restaurant custom drinks or to continue their theme to their drink menu as I didn't see much variety.

This place offers Instagram worthy food but you can absolutely find better tasting and cheaper sushi outside of Midtown. The omakase used all of the viral food things like gold flakes, too much truffle, flames, and smoking which might look fancy but doesn’t make the food any better. It was OK but nothing spectacular.
The restaurant was packed on a Saturday night and a little louder than I’d prefer for an omakase restaurant.
Also, you can tell that the restaurant was designed 10+ years ago and not updated after heavy use. All of the wood was grimy and scratched up, the door to the hallway where the bathroom was located was falling apart, and the bathroom itself was pretty gross.
I wouldn’t be surprised if this was the best sushi in midtown, but I also wouldn’t visit again. There’s way better omakase in nyc.

What a wonderful experience! Chef Frankie is a rock star! Every piece was exquisite and fresh. Co is a great host who is very conscientious and welcoming. Frances made deliciously crafted cocktails. I cannot say enough good things about the restaurant. It was phenomenal!

This is my fav place to eat. The food is beautifully presented and full of flavor especially the nigiri and uni, which are top-tier. The waiters are so nice. Service is outstanding super attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. A must-visit spot for a refined omakase experience in NYC.

Tonight my husband and I had an extraordinary 15 course omakase experience at this amazing sushi restaurant conveniently located near theaters on 47th street. Each course was unique, inventive, and delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an exceptional omakase experience or for your favorite sushi. The regular menu looked fabulous! The service was excellent and I appreciated the low key sophisticated ambiance. We will definitely be back!

I love omakase so I’ve been to a lot of sub-$100 range omakases in NYC and can confidently say this is the best one I’ve had so far! The shari (rice) was perfection both in terms of temperature and texture, and all the fish was super fresh!

Visited this place multiple times this year and that only proves why you have to try this spot. Came here with a date and Franz our server was very attentive to our needs. Plus drinks were perfect. Food was really good too. Can’t recommend it enough. If you decide to come visit, ask for Franz. She’s amazing.

Our whole experience here is great. Food is ok and the service is spectacular. Franz made sure we had the best time. She made a smokey old fashioned and it tasted really good. I would definitely ask for her service again when we come back. Good food and great vibes!

We had the best time! Great food even for us who don’t eat seafood, service was great, and the sake flight was really fun. Co was the best waiter! Also the Smokey ole fashioned is a must.

Each course was uniquely tasty, and I received some extra supplements like the Tuna Flight, toro, salmon and extra uni. The chefs were highly skilled, and very attentive.

We went to this restaurant for my wife's birthday, dinner and a show. This place is a totall tourist trap. I am not sure what troll factory is helping rating this restauran since the menu mentions 7 omakasi sushi, the reality is the I received 6 very small pieces of so called sushi the size of my pinky and one hand roll, no soy sauce. Food taste is very bland and a bit suspicious. The Suntory Toki was not real, it tasted blended or diluted, I drink it home all the time. After dinner we went to a Broadway show and I started feeling sick, but I held it in. Later in the hotel room I got really sick, my wife the same. Save your time, money and health, look elswhere...

Amazing Japanese restaurant!
I love visiting New York and having the opportunity to experience the unlimited dinning options. This time I was in the mood for Japanese and found out The Chemistry Room. I visited another place in a previous visit called the Lab Rooftop. I think they are related. Both are located in the same building.
I made the reservation for dinner a la carte but once I was there I switched to Omakase and it was totally worth it! The price was $100 per person plus tip and it included about 16 bites in total, each of them more delicious than the previous one. It was a great experience. After I finished Omakase, I did an additional Tuna Flight.
The service is amazing and having the Omakase experience we had the opportunity to interact with the Chef and he was explaining every piece of the menu with so much detail.
The only piece that I didn't enjoy because it was a pungent flavor, it was the Bafan Uni made from Sea Urchin. Also the texture was something I wasn't familiar with.
I wouldn't care to repeat again this amazing experience in the future.
