This place is a JOKE! Place was empty but waited 1 hour for app that came cold! Then another 15 to get it back! Service was slow and waiter are terrible. After complaining for the slow service and cold food a manager came over and apologized and comped 1 round of drinks! This place won't last! Save your money and go elsewhere in the neighborhood. Slow service, cold food and poor management. NO THANK YOU!

Drinks are excellent here. If you're looking for a very attractive bar with great service that you can get something light to eat, then this is a 5-star place! If you're looking for a dinner place, this is not for you - the menu for appetizers is excellent, for sandwiches good, and for entrees lacking.

We went in for lunch. Ordered two salads that were so small for the cost a pasta and a burger and waited for over an hour for our food. The pasta was dry. I would not recommend this spot for anyone wanting to have a nice lunch but doesn't want to sit with a glass of wine for 3 hours. The food wasn't bad but not worth the cost or time.

I have brought lots of friends to this place because of its location and atmosphere… have been quite disappointed lately… have witnessed one of the managers being rude and disrespectful towards his staff in more than one occasion now… not a professional way to handle your business dude!!! The food is good but I can’t seem to understand why it takes so long for it to come! Our server tried her best to keep us updated and with drinks coming, very attentive and helpful! What a shame that poor management is overlooked and not being adequately addressed!!!

Please read before dropping your hard earned money here. This place does three things:
1. They lie about prices on the menu
2. Food takes long to come out
3. Aren’t hospitable
We waited 40 mins for our appetizer (guacamole and chips). I also ordered the Chester burger with a $3 bacon add on. When the check came out, they charged $5 for the bacon. So they straight up lie on the menu. Waiter didn’t even offer to take it off the check. They also charge a $1 donation fee (supposed to ask you before doing that?). A 20% gratuity is snuck into the bill too, with no mention of it by the waiter. I was ready to walk off without paying this place.

Went to the Chester for a late night drink. Jorge, my bartender, was amazing! Friendly, attentive, and funny! I was solo so it was nice to chat in a cool, low key spot. I’ll be back!

Had a great time! Bottomless cocktails, the burger, and excellent service from Brandon. He made our friends reunion even more memorable. This is a place I'll visit again when I visit.

Endless waiting, average food, Apple Pay not accepted and obligatory “donation” on the bill… In short, bad experience.

This place looks great, but when I visited recently while on vacation, I was disappointed with the service and overpriced food. My husband and I popped in for a few drinks and snacks (gucamole and chips), and we were amazed a) how long it took to serve us even though it was a quiet Wednesday afternoon b) the cost of it! We weren't expecting it to be cheap (ya know how it goes, NY city prices plus it is the swish meat packing district) but $19 for guamole is pretty steep! The service was really slow to give us our bill / cheque too. We asked 3 times and finally it arrived. We expected better and found the experience disappointing! Suffice to say, no tip! My advice: pop to Chelsea Market. Not as pretentious, amazing food, good prices a nd a great vibe - it's only 5 minutes walk from The Chester and we were glad to find it!!
