Tonight missed the mark. Adorable restaurant with a nice vibe, but the service was uncomfortably slow (despite the restaurant not being full). Our fish dishes were slightly overcooked - expected better given the reviews. I wanted to love it but it was underwhelming.

Food was good but nothing crazy just about what we expected. I recommend going on a rainy day. It wasn’t too busy so we were able to order food and take to go menu not complicated. It’s exactly what you’re expecting and it’s pretty good, food was done quickly and was good

Had lunch here, outside seating was nice. Lunch special was perfect. I recommend having the clam chowder, it was excellent. You can not miss having one of the lobster and clam sliders with some of those extra crunchy French fries. I will return for dinner if we can get in. Always a line here.

Came here on a lazy Saturday evening. Staff was so friendly and accommodating. Matthew was such a great server and everything he recommended was fantastic. The food is simple but excellent. The lobster arancini and Kampachi crudo were stand out appetizers. The black sea bass entree was so fresh, with a sauce that was flavorful and paired perfectly. To top it off, we got the snickerdoodle dessert with espresso ice cream (instead of raspberry, as per Matthew’s recommendation) was a perfect way to end the night. Excellent spot overall and definitely coming back.

We really enjoyed the food here so it’s unfortunate that the service diminished the experience. We made a reservation for 7pm, and there were not many other tables filled at the time. We were seated immediately but it took longer than expected to put our order in, especially considering it was not busy when we arrived. I tried to catch the attention of one of the waitresses by looking at them, but it seemed like she tried to avoid eye contact and even turned away. I figured it was a coincidence the first 1-2 times, but after this happened 2 more times it felt intentional. Furthermore, no one told us about the specials (which we later found out from overhearing the nearby table being served that it was soft-shelled crab which sounded pretty good). I have no idea why the service for our party of 2 was so much worse than all the other tables in the restaurant, many of whom were seen promptly and professionally when the restaurant became significantly more packed. Once packed, it was very loud and hard to have a conversation.
As for the food, the lobster and clam strip sliders were amazing. My partner really enjoyed his salmon risotto too. I’d have loved to come back again, but the service was so abysmal I would never set foot in here again.
Our dinner experience at The Clam was absolutely exceptional. We explained that our plans to attend a show later put us in a time crunch, and both the accommodating manager, Alex and our friendly, professional server, Michelle were very helpful and took remarkable steps to ensure we received excellent, timely service and that we got out the door with time to spare.
Every dish we had was a delight to the taste buds! We tried the soft shell crabs and they were stunning! I tried a creative and delicious mezcal based cocktail that was refreshing and fun. The atmosphere was inviting and cozy, and the outdoor seating space is beautiful! I will definitely return to The Clam soon!

what an amazing experience! wow. we havent been to The Clam since they opened years ago. This version we dined at tonight was 5 star! we had the cod provencal and skate for entrees. Started with the Burrata ( to die for) and a slider. YUM!!! this is one of the best restaurants in New York City. We dine out all the time everywhere ..this is a go to gem

I Love The Clam I was there for Thanksgiving, Birthdays & Just because its awesome!! I went with some friends for Easter last week and we had the best time dinner was delis, The waiter Mathew was on top of his game the entire staff they made it special and I cant wait to return. 5 stars all around! I was on the bus when I spotted this beauty, hopped off and had an incredible meal! The spaghetti and clams were perfect, a tad bit too spicy. A great area too; lively with a great atmosphere. Would highly recommend to anyone willing to spend a bit to have a great time.
