Wonderful family late lunch between exhibits. Cocktails and food were all top notch and the children loved the extra rolls and salmon a la plancha. Servers were all attentive and kind.

We really enjoyed our third visit to the Met dining room. Sitting by the window, overlooking the park is a treat. The watermelon gazpacho was incredible and the peach and raspberry tiramisu with a delightful mousse instead of the usual pudding was sooooo good! We couldn't have asked for better service and the blackberry cocktails were refreshing and just right. Loved it all.

Lovely place- we were quickly seated and had a table right under the slanted glass wall overlooking Central Park. Our waiter was very helpful, as well as amusing and knowledgeable about both the menu and the Museum. The crabcakes were excellent, though definitely on the pricey side, and my companion enjoyed his chopped chicken salad. It was lunch, and very hot outside, so we decided against alcohol n favor of the truly excellent “mocktails” in tall cool glasses with aromatic herb garnishes. It turned out to be my favorite part of the very good meal!

Great dinner experience. Prices are a little elevated, but that's to be expected in Manhattan. Only slight negative was the piano player who went full improv which was a bit much at times...otherwise, great dinner!

While I wanted to give a great review, I can't. Since the dining room was redone a few years ago, it has lost its elegant look. The service is still excellent, while the menu is very limited. I ordered the lobster thermidor pasta dish and found so rich it was almost uneatable. I had oysters to start which were just ok. My friend had the watermelon gazpacho which she said was excellent and then had the chicken milanese which was just ok. Only two desserts were offered and I can't even remember what we had because it wasn't memorable. I have been coming to the Met dining room for many years as I've been a member of the Met museum since the 1970's. I truly hoping it will improve. Two weeks ago, while at the museum I stopped into the Balcony Lounge to have a lite supper and found an extremely limited and unappealing dinner selection., so we had a drink and left to have dinner elsewhere.

I do not know why google map showing such lower score, love food and quiet area, nice decoration, simple but quality. Food is fresh and flavorful. Menu changes since last visiting, but still delicious 😋

I have always loved the Met Dining Room and took 2 friends from New Orleans on a recent visit. As I do, they loved the view (even though it was an overcast day!) As always the food was great -- my salmon omelette was light and fluffy. Friends said the copious portion of chicken salad was delicious.

Nicole took great care of us. Lunch and drinks were delicious. We'll be back soon. Thank you. Joan

The food and service were excellent. The caveat is that the ambience needs to be seriously freshened.

As always, we had a delicious repast at the Met Dining Room - exceptional food, good service, and lovely ambiance. A favorite place to go.

This is my third visit, the service is always impeccable but this time around the food was not great.

Making a reservation online was super easy and the restaurant staff were very accommodating, making sure we got arguably the best table in the house with a view and plenty of room for our baby stroller for a pre-Mother's Day lunch.

The food came out quickly and delicious. The only hiccup was the waitress did get our fish dish orders wrong (had ordered one halibut, one salmon, and one swordfish, but we received two halibuts) and I noticed that the two orders of halibut filet that came out varied significantly in size. The two dishes were also still marked wrong on the bill.

Everything else was delicious, including the dessert. The lactation rooms closeby were great, but I wish they'd have changing tables in them and not just the bathrooms which are further away. It's also quite complicated to get to the dining room from the garage, especially on a busy day with a baby & stroller.

Would definitely come back on a less crowded day!

Very disappointing... Food is sub-par quality....flower salad was stale and so was the meat toast ... not recommend one bit.

The Met Dining Room is a beautiful restaurant with views overlooking the park and well curated offerings. While gluten free options are not noted on the menu, staff is very knowledgeable and much of the menu can be modified to be gluten free. Our server even inquired if my gluten free request was for Celiac, so they could take additional precautions. The crab cakes here are outstanding. Would highly recommend.
