This is a beautiful but small live jazz bar that also serves food. I was somewhat surprised at their no hat policy since a performer is literally wearing a hat. This is a small thing though annoying to me because hats are part of my attire but what really bugged me are the loud conversations and lack of respect to the live performers because literally I was the only person clapping after each performance throughout the night. These can’t be jazz enthusiasts since no lover of jazz wud treat these wonderful live bands like they’re mere elevator music or some record being played through speakers. Either I came on a night with the most obnoxious patrons or simply their patrons are just plain rude.
I been to a live music bar in the Village that is less fancy and more dive bar which occasionally have live blues and jazz and almost everyone is quiet when band is playing and everyone clapped, this shud be the norm.
I doubt I come back partly because of the no hat policy but mostly because I’m embarrassed to be in the same room with all these losers who actually think their stupid little conversations are actually more important and interesting than the beautiful live music produced by these amazing live artists.

Had a very nice business dinner here, which I wasn’t sure would happen because there is live music and it’s kind of a happening place! But, we were set into a little space that was a little separate and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the dinner, the conversation, and the atmosphere of the restaurant. Food was quite awesome, drinks too, so that helped!

Amazing experience, staff incredibly attentive recognising really nicely that it was my wife’s 40th birthday.
Food was top tier across all 3 courses - you have to try the coffee - not tasted anything like it before.

I made a reservation for late after show dinner Saturday night and requested to be close to the stage. We were delighted when the maitre de seated us at the best table in the house, close enough to talk with the musicians between songs. We all agreed that the food was excellent, properly prepared and nicely seasoned. Because tables are reserved for a block of time we were could relax and not feel rushed. The manager handled a special request for us that greatly added to our enjoyment. We will be back and I will certainly recommend to friends.
Kid-friendliness: This is a place for adults to enjoy.

Late dinner with a colleague and friend visiting from Italy, our meals were excellent, the restaurant is beautiful, but Lura the bartender made our evening unforgettable. She shared what went into our meal preparation, the story about the restaurant. We were curious to know her story.
NYC is filled with great restaurants and The Flatiron Room is among them, but ask for Lura when you visit. You’ll quickly understand my rave review.

Love it, one of the best restaurants experience in q long time in New York, the atmosphere was amazing, live music, cozy place to also talk through out the night, the service was amazing! 10/10, we order the seafood platter, was amazing , good flavor, love the sauce and dressing for the oysters, for main we had the halibut and the angus steak, they were both amazing, steak was cool at the correct temperature desire, the halibut was so moist; cook to perfection, the sauce, the spinach, roasted tomatoes, everything was sooo good, we also the side for finger line potatoes and broccolini, also very good and for dessert had the chocolate sphere, was delish, honestly recommend this place 100/10, extremely worth it, everything extremely good and high quality in a busy night!

The food and space is lovely, very nice music and musicians!
The service overall was good, however, the waitress were too fast in collecting our plates and even taking away plates and drinks that we were still enjoying. It looked like they were in a rush for us to leave as soon as possible and this was not very pleasant.
