Had a business breakfast and server was rude and tried to rush us out after 30 minutes. They also cram tables together with no space so very hard to hear any conversation. Disappointing experience across the board and will not return given many other great options nearby.

Everything was amazing and our service Dog Brutus loved it too! Peppered bacon was his favorite!

The dining room is lovely and makes this choice an excellent one for the decor alone. My quiche was fair (a layer of bread above the crust??), the shakshouka had gamey tasting lamb sausage with one egg ($37???), and the steak and eggs were overdone. A breakfast for 3 was $225 with no liquor. . . And the server who took our order said she would be back to refill our coffee cups, but she never returned. Oddly, once we were seated with coffee, we were asked to move to a different table; a party of 5 needed the space more than we did. Props to the restaurant for sending us a pastry basket for the inconvenience.

I should have read the recent reviews which are sadly on point. Understaffed, mediocre food, very expensive.

We stayed here for our Christmas Holiday and it was a mix bag of highs and lows. Highs: Door staff and the greeting they provided you each upon arrival and assistance with your bags. Breakfast at Villard was extremely good and the service was fantastic. But it wasn't cheap, but luckily we had a $100 dollar Amex credit to use each morning to cover majority of the bill. The gentleman at the Holiday bar outside was just full of cheer and in great spirits, we made a point to get a drink from him each day just to be around his positive vibe. Location was just a quick jaunt from Rockefeller and the Christmas Tree. Which lead into Radio City Music Hall for the Rockettes. Which put you right in the equal center distance from Central Park for the carriage ride or Times Sq to see all the lights for a rooftop cocktail. Lows: The wait to check in. They need more staff during peak hours to get people checked into their rooms and not wait 20-25 minutes in line. Reception staff, it was definitely a mix as the one who checked us in was friendly, warm and receptive. However there were two others that we talked too during our stay that were very cold and un-attentive. Especially upon checking out, we weren't even asked "how was our stay?" that you get from even a budget hotel. It was room number and here is your final bill. Biggest disappointment is we never got our Santa Letter under our door, though we did place a card in the mail slot. I would of brought this up upon check-out, but again we weren't even asked about our stay. Rooms I would agree are a little outdated and need some TLC. An though I had a very mixed experience, I overall don't feel we would stay here again as the price point doesn't fit the level of service one would expect at the rate I'm being charged. We still enjoyed our time at the hotel, but I wasn't "wowed" that we feel it's a hotel should stay at again next time in NYC, instead we'll try another luxury hotel.

Absolutely horrid service. Waiter threw a bowl of nuts down on our table with no interaction for nearly an hour. This establishment is racist and full of bigots. The only minority table to not have been served and met with an attitude when we told the waiter were were displeased with our lack of service. Waiter then proceeded to argue with a table full of women who had only stated that the "service" was unacceptable. Very emotionally unstable and shocking to all who were present. However, the other reviews are correct, overpriced drinks with no appeal. Don't waste your time or money being a patron here. They will treat you like you are an inconvenience to them. They have 80 year old men serving and clearly cannot keep up with demand.

Unfortunately the beautiful interior doesn’t match the service. Ordered a round of drinks and waters for the table. Waited over 40 minutes, still no water or drinks. Tables that were seated after us were already ordering their second rounds while we had not even gotten water. Was met with a poor attitude when we asked for the check. Very uncomfortable and unpleasant experience.

Listen. I was at a 2-star michelin restaurant [aquavit] before coming to this restaurant. A main course meal is charged $36-62 in that restaurant. How much did I pay for a cocktail here? $36!! Including tax and mandated gratuity. Man, never ever again. Nyc is full of bars. This one has nothing specific.

Horrible service. The waiters had attitude the whole time like we owed them something. Then they gave us attitude when we asked to split check in three ways. I would not recommend this place. They also included automatic 20% gratuity and that’s why they don’t care about the service.

Had drinks at the Gold Bar last night while staying at the Lotte Palace Hotel. The bartenders were lovely and engaging. The space itself is stunning and just what you would expect with a name like “The Gold Bar.” I tried the Filthy Rich Martini ($50) as I had a credit at the hotel to use and can honestly tell you I did not perceive any difference between it and a regular martini with decent vodka. I then had an old fashioned which was really well made. The nuts were a highlight (a blend of salty, sweet and spicy), and the Roquefort stuffed olives were worth the extra. Overall a good experience, but I probably wouldn’t go back without a credit to use as it is quite pricey for drinks that aren’t that much better than any other.

The ambiance is incredible. The historic nature of the decor and the feel is very luxury. The prices for very normal food....pretty crazy in my opinion, even for NY. Nothing wrong with the food just over-priced. The menu is pretty limited as well. GREAT location though.

The food was great. An elevated breakfast. The staff member waiting on me forgot the order I placed. Didn't get my sides, which was okay. I ensured I wasn't charged. The only down side was the hostesses. They were a bit standoffish. Otherwise, the wait staff were super friendly and cordial.

You will never be disappointed with this place. I've been back several times for business and I am never disappointed. This place is thee vibe in NYC. It's where the elite hang with the elite and meet and greet.
