Upstairs in the dining room at the golden swan the atmosphere is very cool, dimly lit with several good little nooks for a quiet dinner over a cocktail.Recommend having a mix of cold and warm apps and one entre per person. We shared everything between four.We enjoyed the risotto, the foie gras, the Dover sole and the Brixton burger.

Went here on a Saturday night, and I thought it was perfect. Great lighting and atmosphere. The staff was very attentive, nice, personable, and knowledgeable. They made great drink and food suggestions. The bartender made great old fashions. We had the salmon rillettes, which was outstanding, the burger and the steak frittes. Food was great! Vibe was great! Would recommend.

Located in one of my old haunts that's been taken to a new level... the food and service were remarkable. Risotto with truffles. Duck. Steak Tartare. Artic Char with beets and veg. They knocked it out of the park. Cliff, our captain, was incredible. Top notch, seasoned service with wine service that was both knowledgeable and attentive. Cliff and his team were cohesive and you could just sense that they are all pros. It was just the 2 of us for dinner but we are looking to make a night of it with our 4 daughters next month for what I presume will be a spring menu. Good stuff. It seems like there is a different menu in the bar but I don't care. We're doing this again soon with a crew.

The Golden Swan is easily one of the best restaurants in NYC. The atmosphere alone is a 10/10 and then the food is on another planet. The Brixton Burger is one of the best burgers I have ever had and the Cavatelli with duck ragu is one of the best pasta dishes in NYC. Highly recommend making a reservation asap.

Incredible new spot in an iconic location. Food was amazing. Great wine list. The service team was a crew of pros, fully in sync with each other. Cliff had command of the room and every little amenity from the twist in the cocktail to that extra piece of crostini for the steak tartare was provided. Attention to detail was what stood out. Venison. Arctic char. Steak tartare. Salade Lyonnaise. Nuts! Can't wait for a return visit.

Really great burger with a side of antisemitism. Bartenders were great burger was fantastic drinks were good but the manager made a comment regarding Auschwitz. He came over and apologized and confirmed that yes it was a bad joke and he did not mean to ruin my evening but yes he did mention the bar seats and bar area being "more comfortable than Auschwitz" ....

The term “well kept secret” won’t apply to The Golden Swan for very much longer. Ambience, service, cuisine, spirits? It checks all the boxes in a very big way. The space is absolutely stunning with speak-easy elàn. Though I had dined and been completely blown away in their luxurious upstairs dining room, my last visit had singularity of purpose. I heard too many good things about the fast becoming legendary Brixton Burger that I cancelled another reservation elsewhere to come back. Lord have mercy! With my right hand on a Bible, I can state without hesitation, THAT BURGER WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE! The Golden Swan is not an experience to be enjoyed theoretically. BY ALL MEANS GO! They’re doing something you won’t find anywhere else in New York City. After finishing this review, I’ll be making another reservation.

I have been to Golden Swan numerous times and generally enjoyed the food and atmosphere. I have brought and recommended it to friends as well. It’s in a great location and is visually pleasing. Unfortunately, I will not be dining there anymore.We planned our NYE around dining with them after securing a downstairs reservation on resy. We checked their social media accounts too, just to be sure there wasn’t a special menu for NYE, as is common. No mention on their instagram account or on resy itself, so should have been good to go. Unfortunately, upon arriving, we were one of several couples being informed that there would be a ~$200+ per person (pre tip, pre tax) tasting menu only, and they’d be happy to cancel our reservation. Their explanation for this was that “it said we’d have a tasting menu on our website”. Apparently making a reservation and checking their social media accounts is not sufficient diligence to dine here - you must also check their rarely updated website!They clearly knew they’d messed up on resy and instead of honoring the reservations they’d made, they let all their guests show up to be canceled on. I think that decision is quite revealing as a statement of management’s values.We didn’t want this to ruin our night, so we went to a nearby restaurant instead… where we just happened to sit next to another couple who had gotten canceled on by Golden Swan as well. At least we were not alone :)
