I had an incredible meal at The Kunjip in Manhattan. It’s been a long time since I’ve felt this full and satisfied at a Korean restaurant. We ordered the pork bulgogi stone pot rice, soft tofu stew, pork soup, and beef fried rice, and everything was flavorful and perfectly cooked.

The side dishes were outstanding too — especially the gat-kimchi and japchae that came with the meal. Everything tasted fresh, authentic, and comforting.

I was genuinely impressed. Highly recommended, and I’ll definitely be back!

Good Korean food and bustling atmosphere. However, a crazy experience with one of the staff members that left me hesitant to ever come back. I was about to leave after signing my receipt and leaving tip as I was told by a staff member that the amount of tip I chose to leave behind was “too low” and I went too far/extreme (“너무 하자나요“) and to instead do one of the suggested gratuities on the receipt. He was also standing in the only way I could exit which made this situation even more stressful and I felt pressured by him to change the amount on the receipt. iMind you he was not my server nor the person who brought me my check to pay.

I’ve been to this Korean BBQ twice now and both times were excellent. The food is delicious as most KBBQ’s are. The Soju (apple & peach) are very tasty and everyone loved them. They have taken care of us very well each time.

You definitely need to make a reservation. And you better show up on time because they’re extremely busy and most likely will give your table away.

We went out with friends and we were the first to arrive, but the waiter started serving people who came after us. When we told her we were ready to order, she became unreasonably rude and even raised her voice at us. Service 👎👎👎👎

One of the worst Korean BBQ experiences. Everything we had was bad. Seafood pancake, bad. Seafood vegetable soup, bad. Prime meats, not so prime. Service was okay.

I had a very unpleasant experience here. After I wrote the tip amount, the staff brought the receipt back to me and pressured me to change the tip to a higher amount. This is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. No customer should be forced to adjust their tip. I will not be returning and I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone! I spend 200$4 people.

Psst.. go during lunch special hours. Peaceful and quiet. Staff is friendly and doing the best they can with all the online orders. The Food, chef kiss it was DELICIOUS! I got the lunch special bossam and soft tofu soup and it was so good. I needed a soup during these cold seasons. They have complimentary side dishes which was delicious, some hot tea to help with the weather, and a sweet tea at the end. This is a great spot if your looking for a balanced meal thats affordable. Will come again

This place has gone down hill too much and being mismanaged. Not enough staff to properly run the grills, reservations not being honored, 1 grill for 8 adults, not enough side dish, drain pan dirty as hell, etc. I feel bad for employees who has to deal with customers who are annoyed.

I had an amazing Korean BBQ experience at thekeunjip
The quality of the food, the variety of banchan, and the overall atmosphere were all excellent.

We ordered samgyeopsal and pork galbi, and both were outstanding.
The samgyeopsal was thick, juicy, and perfectly fresh, crisping up beautifully on the grill.
The pork galbi had a deep, well-balanced marinade — not too sweet, not too salty — and every bite was tender and full of flavor.

The side dishes were also great: the scallion salad, kimchi, radish cubes, and steamed egg all paired perfectly with the BBQ.
The bubbling soup on the side added that cozy, authentic Korean comfort touch.

The grill setup was clean and well-maintained, and the staff was attentive throughout the meal.
The owner was especially kind and welcoming, which made the entire experience even better.

Overall, this place delivers a truly satisfying Korean BBQ experience —
excellent meat, delicious sides, and warm, attentive service.
I would definitely come back again!

The Kunjip is one of my go-to spots in K-Town! The service is always fast and friendly, and there are so many food options to choose from — everything I’ve tried so far has been delicious. 🍲

It’s right in the heart of K-Town, which makes it super convenient to stop by after shopping or hanging out. The only downsides are that it can get pretty crowded during peak hours, and some dishes are a little pricey.

Still, totally worth it for the quality and experience. If you love Korean food and don’t mind a busy vibe, this is the place to be!

Reposting as it has been dropped. Pictures lost.
Lunch on New Year’s Day. My wife ordered duck Mandooguk for good luck and I ordered Dobdol Bibimbop. Both dishes were very tasty. They give you lots of delicious small dishes to start. It is a really busy place. BBQ is mainly upstairs but there was a long waiting list. We ate downstairs where it is very crowded with tables close together. Not much atmosphere but the food is delicious.
