Absolutely amazing dessert! They modified their ice shade (forgot to take pics) so I could have vegan version as well!
Visited on a whim because I was craving a sweet treat in the area. The store is very small and tidy, I really enjoyed the atmosphere. The matcha latte and dango I ordered were hot and delicious! I'm definitely returning to try the other menu items.
Ordered the hojicha tiramisu as well as strawberry kakigori. Tiramisu was a little sweet for me, but delicious nonetheless (I still ate the entire thing). Strawberry kakigori was perfect despite the cold and rainy weather; I can definitely see this being refreshing during the hot, humid summers.
Really good kakigori! Got the mango one to share with a friend and enjoyed it. Service was good and there are a few seats to sit down and enjoy. Went on a Friday night in the summer and didn't have a problem finding a seat.
Interior is clean and has art from local artists on the wall.
A bit disappointed in the kakigori truth be told. I was looking forward to trying it for months, ever since they participated in the chinatown restaurant week.
The texture of the ice was good (small and flaky). In addition, the mango was delightful, abundant, and brought a lot of much needed flavor. However, there were very little toppings for how expensive it is. I could barely taste the condensed milk or jelly, despite so much of the dessert being carved out to make space for it. I understand the dessert is supposed to be light and refreshing, but I wish there was more of a balance in the toppings.
The atmosphere was quite cute, even in the tiny space. They also serve you the dish on a little tray.
$12 can buy you a very nice dessert anywhere in the city. The kakigori simply did not offer enough to justify the price.
I love the shaved ice here! My favorite is the matcha oat!!! Perfect for friends and family
So cute! We got the hojicha lemonade and loved it
yummy but the size is disappointing... the large is ~$17 after tax but seems like a small. maybe 1/3 size of the average kakigori you'd find in japan, what i'd expect from the small not the large.
Cold brew tea is nice
The shaved ice itself was quite good (although a little on the expensive side at $11 for a small bowl). The customer service needs improvement, though. They ran out of one of the toppings for the flavor that I ordered, and when I asked the cashier if we could substitute for another topping on the menu, they refused. No discount or other option was given, the options were either to pay full price without the topping or pick a new flavor.
