I’ve been so many times to this cafe that I’ve lost count. I’ve been going here since it first opened — when we were not even allowed to stay inside because of the pandemic in the first months of 2021. Its current packed seats are a testament to the great service and product they provide. The arepas on the weekends are incredible. The staff is incredibly kind. The coffee is the best you’ll find in the city — I dare you to prove me wrong. They don’t have wifi but, honestly, you don’t need it. It’s a perfect place to read, go with friends, stop and breathe. I often get the arepa “el younas” but the reina pepiada is also delicious. I once went with friends so they could try the arepas, it was the first time they weren’t serving them so the talented barista gave me a latte with the monkey saying “sorry” (from “Monkey cup”, get it?). It made it all worth it. This place is worth it.UPDATED REVIEW with more photos

A new favourite cafe in the city. Very cozy and lots of seating available. I loved the buzz and music all around. The drinks were delicious, one of the best matches I’ve had in the city and everything is very affordable. Highly recommend! Also note no wifi so!

The cutest little coffee shop in Harlem. It is so hipster and the owner is so sweet. He tried to draw my dog which he welcomed in. The place felt so magical and the vibe is so calm and positive. I recommend stopping by!!! They only have food on certain days and pastries throughout the week.

We got a mocha and an iced caramel latte. They were delicious. The shop is beautiful with a very boho relaxed atmosphere. The music isn’t too loud and it allows you to have conversation. The service was very friendly and fast and coffee presentation is spot on gorgeous. Wish they had couches!!!!

Today I tried a Spanish Latte for the first time ever and I'm so glad that I did! It was amazing! Thank you to the barista for taking the time to introduce me to this delicious drink! Overall, I had a great experience at The Monkey Cup! And I must've chose the right spot because even though the place is large with lots of tables, chairs, armchairs, and stools, I was lucky to snag a seat - the place was packed with customers! People socializing, working on laptops, enjoying pastries! Clearly, this is a very popular local attraction! This was a cool spot with great coffee and food options! I'll definitely return when in the area again!
A friendly island of caffeinated comfort. New to the neighborhood, I stopped in for a dirty oat chai (fabulous and not too sweet) and felt immediately at home. Prices are super affordable.

This is a very cute coffee shop in South Harlem. Just moving into the neighborhood and am so happy it is here. Great ambience, friendly people, judgement free zone atmosphere. Highly recommend. Coffee is also very good!
