The Original Cake Man Raven

It was a disaster for my daughters 19th birthday! Ordered a cake 2 weeks in advance and was told it would be ready at 11 am Nov 25th, the morning before I text to confirm and the time was changed to 4pm. I couldn't make it because I had to work and was told to go to Queens to pick it up. I took a cab to Queens on Nov 25th and the cake was not there. They delivered it the following morning and it wasn't the cake I ordered, totally different design. Highly disappointed. Please beware. There was no compassion or compensation for the huge inconvenience.

I have been buying this cake for years . I love the red velvet. It would be 5 stars if the frosting was not so extremely sweet that it is inedible. It is so unfortunate as I love the cake and have to east around the frosting because it is sooooo sweet it gives me a headache. Dang...If you can deal with EXTREME sweetness, I recommend.

Everything was killer. Nice people. Owner introduced himself. Always a good sign. Cake was on point. Like perfect red velvet. Can’t wait to come back.

Best red velvet cake ever!! Coconut slices no problem delicious frosting and beautiful area with palm trees and a friendly smile . You can also take a sweet walk to multiple galleries as well. Highly recommend for all events it’s my go to. The crowd always love the cake.

I have routinely come to this store to get slices of cake about once a week because my daughter likes them. Today it was raining and I saw that there was a customer already inside so I opened the door to get out of the rain while I waited to put in my order. The men working there were hard to understand but ai could understand them telling me to wait outside. I figured that maybe since they were already taking an order (and the inside is small) that they wanted me to wait until the lady was finished her order. I waited and watched as she got her product in a bag and paid. I then continued to wait as the two men chatted with the woman for over 5 minutes. Eventually I got tired of getting rained on and waiting for what would have been a 40 second transaction and left.

I will not be returning.

I called the number online to inquire about hours of operation. The phone rang once before being sent to voicemail. After hanging up, I received a text message with a pasted response containing info and instructions about placing an order. I followed up with a text asking if they sold slices and asking for their hours of operation. The response was the exact same text, which did not contain answers for all of my questions. So I sent another text asking what time they close. Again, no response. Therefore, I will not be patronizing this business. There is no website containing the hours of operation. Their Instagram does not contain the hours of operation either. Not smart for a business to not have their hours of operations posted. I will patronize another business that is more professional.

The man has craft, and the cake is good don’t get me wrong. However, if he wants to stay in business he needs to realize that communication is one of the most important things to have, especially with a customer. You can’t expect someone to know when an order is ready (this was requested about a day or 2 before on my end) if you don’t say anything until HOURS after before the store is about to close saying that you’re a “no show”. This cake was for a special occasion so I didn’t have a choice but to rush there and pick it up. Along with the attitude and lack of communication, I will not be returning. This is just a heads up but this guy is wishy washy fr!

Tried the red velvet cake for the first time. The cake was a 10 out of 10. Absolutely delicious.

My Nephew brought it for my daughter 50th birthday, and omg, the best cake ever, my husband does not red velvet cake, but when he tasted that cake, all I have to say is I’m in trouble now.

Soooooo……I was just there to order a customized cake. The glass door does not look like an entrance, and as I walked away, two non-English speaking fellows answered the door. I tried to explain that I wanted to order a cake, and I even pointed at the picture in the window. One of them repeatedly told me that his boss wasn’t there, and I should call. I called. The mailbox is full. I understand that this business is obviously new, but as a person who comes from a line of small business owners, I know that this is no way to run one.
