Overall nice, presentation was beautiful, service was average, nothing special or especially friendly. The room was rather loud and the food was good but not special or exceptional. Many items only had a bite or 2 taken out of them and left us wanting something more.....

If you love being surrounded by only white, white, and more white people, then this is your tea. Every patron was white, it was uncomfortable, and pompous, and yes, I am white. The only savory sandwich that was good was the turkey one. The sweet selection had a pistachio chocolate that was amazing. The scones were good. Overall, I would never come back. I've been to plenty of teas and this lacked on a lot of levels, and probably ranks last in my tea experiences. The presentation was nice. Even the tea was just ok. For the price and the stuffy atmosphere, I strongly recommend skipping this experience.

Booked the Plaza for my best friends birthday. Although the food was good, the steak dinner came with two cherry tomatoes. For $68, it should have come with a real side. The waiter was rushing us, slammed the drinks down on the glass table and only checked on us once in 1.5 hours. What was supposed to be a special celebration ended up being a waste of money. I would only go in the future for drinks. With that said, the Plaza is a gorgeous hotel and the holiday decorations were outstanding!

I was so excited this and unfortunately it disappointed. This was a bucket list experience and kinda wished I didn't do it. I've had afternoon tea before, this is by far the most expensive which I was aware of due to the name, location and standard. But this was not met, the location was good, but standard for food, service and attentive was just ‘fine'. The thank you box of chocolates at the end was nice, but it felt very un-special and I was felt to be made aware that I do not dine there often with comments of ‘no, we don't do it that way' and just disregard in having to ask for more water or anything really.

Way overpriced for the level of service and quality of food. Tea was weak. Attention to detail was poor.

Server didn't really take the time to explain the menu and teas. Forgot our second cup of tea and we waited for over 20 min to get out baby High chair

Our Server elvis did a great job. He went over the menu with me and answered any questions I had. He was very attentive to our table.

That's definitely not the place to eat . Food variety is limited. Service is awful, we went to the bathroom and the jacket was stolen from the chair , the stuff hasn't seen anything and security doesn't have an access to the camera. Not even an apology was offered. So think twice before go there and if you do , keep all valuable stuff close.

The food was delicious but the service let it down. Our sever was so rude. He could hardly speak English so couldn't understand us or explain properly to us. He got my daughter's order wrong and then she had to wait ages for her correct afternoon tea to be brought out. This really let the experience of being at the plaza for afternoon tea down. The money you spent here it should be excellent service and I so disappointed in this. This was a treat for my birthday and I didn't enjoy it at all. Won't be back.

Such a classic event (Tea at the Plaza). I actually thought it was a great deal ($125 pp) and the food was delicious, as was the tea. Feels fun to dress up and go out for something fancy! And for a special occasion (my birthday) they brought out a special treat.

We arrived promptly for our reservation at 4pm. The waiter approached us immediately and asked me and my guests to order quickly because the chef would like to go home at 4:30!! Besides being incredibly inhospitable, did he really think the staff couldn't place a few pastries on a tray without the chef? The waiter persisted in calling me by my first name. While I didn't mind too much, in retrospect it fits in with his generally condescending behavior. I've rarely sensed that in a restaurant before.

I specified 3 times (once at the reception area and two more times to different waiters) the foods restrictions we had: olives, cucumber, sea food and caviar and we received all of the above, of course I left a tip but it was so expensive that I expected to have options and people who accommodated my preferences instead of getting all I don't eat. I will not be coming back

Difficult to get the waiter's attention. Waiters were not helpful, impatient, didn't explain the food, frankly a little rude. We got the most inexpensive offering, could tell they were disappointed we didn't get the Champaign. For a few finger sandwiches and tea, I wish I'd spent my $650 elsewhere. Someone recommended the Baccarat Hotel and I wish I'd done that instead. Very disappointed. Food was not very fresh. The menu was even outdated, showing their summer offerings however we were definitely served their fall offerings (again, no help from the waiters, so not sure what we ate). Bathrooms were far and not very nice—creepy really. I'm sure this was fun to do even 10 years ago but things are dated in a bad way here. I was at Adare Manor in Ireland a few months ago and had a much better experience, THAT was worth the money. Also had high tea at a little place in Brooklyn Heights a few weeks ago and had such a better time, think I only paid $80 a head there. I simply feel foolish for going here and not trying something I knew would be better quality. The room/ceiling/ambiance is not worth it, not by a mile.
