Nice spot. Everything looked good, the eggs Benedict is deep fried, very greasy. More like a scotch egg. I would pass.
Everything else looked pretty good.

The crispy eggs Benedict ($20 plus tax) was a novel take on a brunch classic The eggs and Canadian bacon on the English muffin were good, but the accompanying potatoes were bland. The small fruit serving could be more seasonal and fresher.

The interior, maybe in the attempt to make it cozier, felt rather dimly lit, which would have suited dinner service better. For brunch, I wish it were just a tad brighter.

The food was just alright. I ordered the breakfast burrito and the potatoes were dry and tasted like reheated leftovers. Did not appreciate the waiter handing us the bill before we finished our meal (and there were other tables open).

Simply ok. Nothing to write home about but good location and quite quiet.

The food was not good, they didn’t cook anything how we had asked. The service was HORRIBLE. We had to get up from our table and go to the bar to ask for thing NUMEROUS times. Then when I proceeded not to tip because it was that awful, they still charged my card $10+ for a tip that i specifically didn’t leave. Will NEVER go back and reported to the state. STAY AWAY!!!!

I loved the space - cozy and warm. But the food was mediocre, although my burger was really good. Everything else was underwhelming, including the crab cakes, avocado toast, and BEC. The service was terrible - charged us for things we didn't order and a lot of miscommunication. And the bathrooms were gross! Overall disappointing.

This was one of the worst restaurant experiences I have had. I chose this place for a brunch with my aunt. The restaurant had a lot of open seats and a few waiters and a lot of busboys running around. Not busy at all. The waitress took our orders and my eggs benedict and potatoes arrived looking very dry, cold and it tasted like someone forgot to put salt so I wanted to ask for salt and some mustard but the waitress not only never stopped at our table but did not even look at us or hear us while my aunt waved her arms around calling out to her several times. It got to the point that we felt truly ridiculous. She was standing right next to our table while we tried to get her attention and she was in another world. When she finally came to our table to bring us the check, I told her all of this and showed her my still full plate of food and she did not even apologize stating the restaurant was full but it truly was not full at all.

Go somewhere else for breakfast or lunch. We paid $220 for 4 people - 2 appetizers, 4 entrees, and 2 cocktails. All the above were small, mediocre, and overpriced. The bagel and lox were especially bad. At $20, you'd think you could serve a fresh, quality NYC bagel - but not here. To top it all off we were rushed out after an hour. Next time I want to treat my family to a nice meal I'll try a local diner or deli. I advise you to do the same.

A cute place with relatively standard food options. My food had decent flavor, albeit a little overcooked. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

It was crowded when we went but the food was great. Lower service rating was due to short staffing. Nice atmosphere but it is basically a hotel bar after all.

Brunch on a rainy Sunday at The Reading Room was perfect! Cozy atmosphere, delicious food and great service! Meeting a friend from out of town, I was looking for a place not too far from her hotel. The fact that The Reading Room is in the Gotham Hotel gave us more to reminisce about our younger days when we were big fans of Batman and Batwoman! We both ordered the Crispy Eggs Bennedict, poached eggs in crispy shells served on a toasted English muffin with roasted potatoes and some fresh fruit. When sliced the warm egg yolk oozing out of the crispy shell was delicious and perfectly made! Just what we needed on a cool rainy day! Valentina and her colleagues gave us great service and never rushed us out of there which was an added pleasant feature. Will definitely go back!

The crab cake was full of moist crab. It was excellent. Fries were very tasty, too. Hubby enjoyed his steak sandwich. Service was efficient and cordial.
