We had breakfast here on a recent visit to NYC. It appeared to be a local businessman's hang out based on the number of professional looking clothing and cell phones. Not bad, not exceptional, just good food to start the day.

I wanted to take a moment to thank Valeria for the stellar service and superb attention she gave to my daughter and I during my birthday brunch. She was patient, kind and helpful. This was our first visit and it won’t be the last. The pancakes were good, classic diner pancakes and the hash and eggs were perfectly done. The coffee and tea kept flowing too. The only hiccup in our time here was a surly cashier (Julia) who has a nasty habit of talking down to the staff and berating hard working servers from one side of the restaurant to the other. She was rude, unprofessional and unkind. Thank goodness for workers like Valeria (and everyone else who came over to check on us during our meal). They are the stars who make the Red Flame Diner worth visiting.

The flame has sadly gone out on this diner! Thought I would give it a try as I didn’t have much time to check out in the afternoon and head to EWR. l usually have my last breakfast at ‘Eat Here Now’ (upper east side)- highly recommend ! Poor service ie average food..unfriendly

Worst place my boyfriend and I ate at on our vacation. The omelette my boyfriend got was outright disgusting. The sausage had so many hard bits in it and cheese wasn’t even melted. My avocado wrap, not horrible but it overall lacked flavor and the chicken had a weird texture. Coffee was fine. I will say they did take the omelette off of the bill which we greatly appreciated but wouldn’t eat here again.
