Beautiful decor. Very convenient for Broadway shows. Friendly service but short-staffed. Closing as of today for renovations Staff was not sure if it's re-opening.

Many food items were not available for a Sat 5pm sitting. No Apple Martini's, calamari tasted liked onion rings from Burger King. Aweful taste and chewy. We waited almost 20-25 minutes to get our drinks and then barely saw waiter to reorder drinks. Burger that one person got medium rare was not good. Salmon was pretty good but a little overcooked. It did not melt like butter. Atmosphere was nice, drinks that we did have were good. Overall service could have been better. I don't think there were enough staff to wait the tables, which caused our waiter to be rushing around. Would I recommend and say "You have to try the food at Bacalls, probably not.

We were a party of 4 dining before a play. We ordered French onion soup and asked the the top be well browned. It was not. I think they heated it in a microwave. We ordered drinks when one was not delivered so we waited then asked the waiter, they had run out of ice tea?!! One guest had crab cakes which were not eatable another guest had ordered meatballs in marinara sauce and they were delivered with sweet snd sour. When paying we were told that the restaurant was closing for hood that night. It explains a lot!!!

Servers were friendly but slow. Bacall's was listed as participating in Restaurant Week but they were not. Multiple items on the smallish menu were not available. Key Largo salad was almost entirely beets and the chicken was lukewarm, bland and rubbery. Probably great if you stick to the burger or fried chicken.

My husband arrived for a 5:45 reservation. It took 15 minutes for someone to come over. He ordered drink, that never came. He also ordered the meatball appetizer in marinara sauce. I arrived at 6:15. Nobody ever stopped by to see if I wanted anything. I finally walked over to the server and told him that I wanted to add an entree. He said he'd be right over. Never came. Our meatballs came, but they were not the ones that my husband ordered. On top of that, you could tell that they were frozen meatballs dumped into sweet and sour sauce. At this point, we wouldn't have time to order anything else, as we had a show to catch. I asked the hostess to please get our check. I watched her go over and talk to the server. He never appeared again. No drink, wrong app, no service. We observed all of the other tables having the same experience. Unfortunately, there was no manger to be found.

Did not get to enjoy the restaurant due to low staff. Had to make a show by a certain time and the additional wait the staffing issue caused would be too long to enjoy dinner. Was really looking forward to the expeience.

Do not waste your time or $$. Awful service. Almost missed our show after arriving 2 hours early. Stay away.

Had a nice dinner here over the summer, but brunch today was not good at all. Ordered a coffee that took over a half hr to receive. Had to ask for ketchup for a burger & fries - which came much later after other's at the table almost finished their meals - and I received PACKETS versus a bottle of ketchup?!? Waitress never came to follow up on anything ....

Asked for no bacon in omelette, came with bacon. Only 5 tables with customers. Took 40 minutes for food to come to the table.

We ordered two drinks from the bar and our server and/or help came 4 different times with the wrong order. Kept insisting they were ours and we had to tell them numerous times what we ordered. After about 8 different drinks we finally got the correct ones after our food arrived. My kids ordered grilled cheese and the edge of the crust was burnt. My chicken sandwich; chicken was over cooked. Smallest Caesar salad I have ever seen and the added chicken was also dried out/over cooked.

Bacall's is in a great location in the middle of the Broadway area. The food and drinks were very good. We had escargot (generous portion), beef carpaccio (way too small portion - not worth it), rigatoni (delicious) and the Branzino (fabulous). We went on a Sunday night and there were only 2 other tables filled in the entire restaurant. Not sure why since the area was packed just before an evening show. The service was excellent and the ambiance was old movie vibe. Would definitely go again.

While the food was pretty decent the overall experience was off. We didn't get a drink list when we sat and I felt that threw off the whole experience. Our server just felt kind of annoyed by us. He never checked in with us after our food was served and never asked if we wanted another drink. Our appetizer tasted pretty good and our entrees were also fine. Just wish the service lived up to the food.

We chose Bacall's after reviewing the menu on line that included brunch food. Our meals were delicious. Seating upstairs in the cozy round booth was wonderful and spacious. Service was great and accommodating even though we were running late for our reservation. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.

Extremely gracious staff and well located in the theatre district. Food is pretty much an afterthought, though. Go for the convenience, and adjust your expectations accordingly for the food.
