The Smith midtown is the loudest restaurant I've ever been in, and it was uncomfortable. Everyone is shouting to be heard just by the person facing them across the table. The food was solid and the service was excellent. But it was impossible to enjoy the meal because it was like eating in a subway station while two expresses bomb through at top speed in opposite directions- except that at least that is momentary. We came here for a work dinner. It was a good spot, fair price point, but a little too loud for our group. Would likely not come here again for business meeting. Personal meet up - YES! It's lively. But, more for personal, not business dinner.
Service was spotty but food was amazing. But the restaurant was packed so that might account for the spotty service. Place could use some sound absorption panels as voices really bounced off the mostly tiled restaurant. I everyone loved the food. I had potato waffle with smoked salmon and poached eggs.
