The hostess and wait staff were extremely friendly and accommodating! I let them know I was on a time schedule, and wanted to be out at a specific time, and that schedule was met without compromising quality.

Great brunch today! Our server was welcoming and engaging. Perfect morning while in the East Village!

This was our first time here. The noise level was completely unacceptable. Ruined our dinner experience. We had to shout across our table. We left without having coffee or dessert and couldn't finish our wine it was so loud.

Definitely get the tuna tartare and calamari as apps, food is incredible, waiter was great and not overbearing. Hated the table location where they sat us near the restroom, other then that it's def a must try

The pastas that we ordered were on the salty side. Other than that, everything was delicious. service was very attentive too. We were a large group (16 people) and everyone had a great time. Also, was very happy that we were able to order ala carte from the menu instead of being stuck with a prefixe menu.

It was noisy and crowded - but they did their best to give us a quieter table and also to get us fed and out within an hour so we could get to the theater on time. The food was great.

Louder than standing under the Manhattan Bridge. Medium rare burger came medium well but was promptly (and correctly) replaced. Salmon appetizer was stellar but most of the other food was average.

Super! They had just finished their brunch hours but they were nice enough to serve us their brunch menu (we were really craving brunch)

The food was better quality and fresher and served warmer at the Nomad location and this menu was more limited so not sure we will come back. The service was fantastic though, we really liked our served Tom, he was excellent! They gave us a great booth which we really enjoyed.

In all fairness it was graduation weekend at NYU and the place was overwhelmed by the nonstop rush of large tables. It was chaos inside. That being said, we were seated fifteen minutes after the reservation (our problem-we arrived a half hour early, so we had been waiting for a long time), then kept us waiting for our drinks for almost 40 minutes. Food was another half hour in coming. Staffing should have been double what it was for this busy Saturday. We had a table of ten, and spent a fortune on a meal that was pleasant despite the struggle with service, but it didn't deliver the value for the money.

Delicious food and atmosphere. There is no sound absorption so it's just too loud. We couldn't hear each other.

Once again we had a fabulous experience at the Smith. The food was outstanding. I loved the shrimp and grits I ordered. Our server was amazing but I forgot her name. She has light blonde hair and funky glasses. She was an absolute doll. One thing I will mention is the noise level is loud. Like really loud so definitely a fun, lively place but I would not do a first date or an important biz meeting here where you'd really need to be able to hear and listen. But a great place for a delicious meal with excellent service all around!

Great food, good selection. Something for everyone. Service is great. We had a waiter that we recognized who had been there for years. Only downside is that it's very loud...but well worth it!!

Couple of things. I waited too long for a drink, about 15 minutes I had to ask another waiter to check on it. I then received it at the same time as my meal. I wanted the drink first. I ordered the short rib pasta. It was too spicy. However here is the problem. The menu does not say it's spicy. If a dish is spicy it should be reflected in the menu description. I tried to eat it but after 4 forkfuls I was done. I mentioned it to the waitress. I told her I was not looking for a free meal but just to tell the owner that the menu should reflect it's spicy. She said I was not the first to complain. In that case it is up to the waiters to tell the customer it's a spicy dish. She did offer me something else or takeout but I said no. She was very nice. My pasta was taken off the bill which I was not going for. The noise level was off the wall. Table in the back was very loud. I couldn't hear my friends across the table. This was my birthday lunch. Very disappointing.
