Nice little cafe with sandwiches and drinks next to a beautiful the Trie Cloister for some peace and tranquility while having your feet take a break from walking around

We are French and we have been living in NY for four years. Everywhere we’ve been in the ??, we were very well welcomed as customers. The service in the United States is usually incredible but… here in the MET Cloisters’cafe we have been very very rudely treated. We bought drinks, sat at a table. It was dirty. We kindly asked if it could be cleaned. A man came a yelled at us because we could have chosen another table! But the others had a less beautiful view. We had to justify ourselves. UNBELIEVABLE. He was so rude. I still can believe it. I’m shocked.

Beautiful setting, stupidly expensive pre-made food.

Just reselling premade snacks and bottled/canned beverages, would rather have some vending machines than this waste of space.

Beautiful location, awful service - can't remember the last time I've received such unprovoked hostility as from the man behind the counter on Tuesday afternoon

This place has always been lackluster but this season it’s far worse. Seems to be under new management. Its a glorified vending machine. Everything is prepackaged with a 500% markup. It’s a cafe and they don’t have hot coffee just cans. Obviously the result of necrotic bureaucracy and a hatred of nice things. Bring The Rose Bakery in. Send this anemic hospitality group back to drop-shipping scam business model incubation chamber it crawled out of.

Overpriced airport quality food served by miserable people.

Sad selection of lowest effort snacks and bad drip coffee in a beautiful location. Cashier got taciturn for not getting a tip for ringing up a packet of chips and a Kind bar. Needs at least something approximating espresso and good coffee beans. It isn't 1980 any more, coffee has come to America.

16.50 for a rancid roast beef sandwich. The Met should be ashamed.

The cloisters are beautiful, but this is the only option for refreshments in the park and do they milk it. $17 for a sandwich that’s been sitting in the sun all day, and you’ll be eating it off a paper plate, and no artisan coffee? There’s also no room to sit inside the galleries and have a good look - they really make you feel unwanted.
